Insert the stack of paper into the product, and then gently push the paper guides snugly against the paper. Make sure that the paper is fully inserted into the product. Try printing again. If the issue is not resolved, try loading different brands of paper and different types of paper, one type at a time.
Perform a hard reset on the printer and make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector. Remove all the ink cartridges and then try to perform a hard reset on the printer.
When you use the automatic document feeder (ADF) to copy, scan, or fax, the error message `The original has jammed or the document feeder (ADF) is dirty. To remove the original, open the ADF cover. To clean the ADF, see the user guide` displays on the product control panel.
Start by checking your hardware
If you`re using a wired printer, make sure that the printer cable is properly connected from the printer to your PC. For wireless printers, check the wireless connection. Make sure the printer`s wireless option is turned on and available.
An automatic document feeder (ADF) is a mechanism found on devices like printers, fax machines, photocopiers, and scanners that feeds multiple sheets of paper into a scanner or copier to copy, print, or fax multipage documents in a single operation.
Paper Overloading Because many desktop inkjet printers are top-loading, it can be easy to overload the tray.
ADF/NDB Errors
Electrical interference: In areas of high electrical activity, such as a thunderstorm, the ADF needle will deflect toward the source of electrical activity, causing erroneous readings. Terrain errors: Mountains or steep cliffs can cause bending or reflecting of signals.
Hold the ADF cover from top and open it by gently pulling it up until it stands vertically to the unit. This will expose the ADF rollers as well as the ADF tray tabs that hold the tray to ADF assembly. To remove the ADF Input Tray, grasp the other end of the ADF Input tray.
Select Start , then select Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners . Scroll down to Related Settings and select Print server properties. Select the Drivers tab, and see if your printer is listed. If it is, you`re all set.
Clean the print head, if necessary. Make sure the paper size, orientation, and layout settings in your printer software are correct. Make sure your document does not contain blank pages. If your printer software has a Preview option, you can check for blank pages before you print and remove them, if necessary.
Reasons why your HP printer has ink but won`t print
This may seem obvious, but it sometimes happens: first make sure your paper tray has paper in it. Misalignment, clogged printheads, faulty data communication or insufficient ink levels can also be sources of the problem.
This is often caused by the fact the pick-up roller is worn out. The layer of rubber around this plastic part overtime gets too smooth, preventing paper from feeding properly into the printer. This fix is not really hard, will take no more than half an hour and costs around 10,- (Euro or Dollar).
