Unplug the power cable from the back of the product. Unplug the product cable from any power strips or surge suppressors, and plug it directly into a grounded (three-prong) wall outlet. Plug the power cable into the back of the product. Try the print job again to see if this step resolved the issue.
If your printer won`t print, a print job has stopped unexpectedly, or you received a “carriage jam” error, your printer carriage is likely jammed. These jams occur when the carriage holding the ink cartridges stalls in the printer. Carriage jams sometimes occur after a paper jam.
The carriage of a printer is the assembly that holds the ink cartridges and slides back and forth to transfer ink onto printer paper. Paper jams can sometimes lead to carriage jams, especially after printing on thicker paper like an envelope.
Why the Printer Cartridge won`t Move. A paper jam is usually the reason why an HP printer cartridge gets stuck on the right side. Pushing the paper excessively into the printer, on the other hand, is the most common cause of a paper jam. You should only push the paper until the first resistance.
If your printer`s status displays “Printer in error state,” there may be a problem with the printer itself. Make sure the printer is turned on and connected to your PC by Wi-Fi or cable. Check it for low paper or ink, and be sure the cover isn`t open and the paper isn`t jammed.
If your printer keeps jamming, you should know that the most common cause of a jam is misalignment of the paper. Paper needs to load in smoothly, completely flush with the tray. Overfilling the tray is a great way to ensure you will be spending some personal time getting to know the inside of a printer.
A mistake in anything that`s printed is a misprint. You might also call it a typographical error or typo.
If your PC or the LCD screen on your printer is telling you that your ink cartridges are full but no ink is passing through to the paper, then it`s most likely that you are dealing with a clogged printhead. Blurry documents and images that appear faded are also signs that it`s time to remove the excess ink.
1. On the printer display home screen, select the “set up” button (it looks like a gear). 2. Select “settings” > “device settings” > “reset settings” > “reset all” > “OK” and then “Yes.”
Leave the ink cartridges installed when you transport the printer. Transporting the printer with the cartridges removed can damage the printer.
If the printer has been printing continuously for a long time, the Print Head Holder may not move to the center since the Print Head may overheat. Opening the Top Cover while printing moves the Print Head Holder to the right. Close the Top Cover, and reopen it after printing finishes.
Verify the ink cartridge(s) is inserted properly. Some cartridges snap in place, and if they are not inserted fully, the printer won`t print anything. If a lever is moved from its original position to allow for installation of ink cartridges, ensure it is returned to its original position.
A carriage jam occurs when the carriage, which holds the ink cartridges, is stuck or blocked and cannot move. This can happen for various reasons, such as a piece of paper getting stuck in the printer or a problem with the paper feed gear.
To fix an HP printer cartridge problem, remove and reinstall the indicated cartridge until it firmly sits into the slot. If all the cartridges are installed properly, press “OK” or “Continue” to clear the message and resume printing.
1. Paper Jams. Paper jams are a common problem for printers, resulting in time-consuming and frustrating delays. It can occur when loose sheets of paper get stuck in the rollers or feeding mechanism of the printer.
Dust, paper fiber, and other debris might accumulate on the paper feed rollers and cause paper jams and paper feed issues. Clean the rollers inside the printer, and then try to print again. Turn off the printer, and then disconnect the power cord.
Updated: 02/07/2022 by Computer Hope. A paper jam is when paper or other printed material gets stuck or lodged in a printer and cannot eject. When this occurs, the printer does not function properly until the paper is manually removed.
Impact printers (not inkjet printers) use small pins to hammer ink onto a page from a ribbon. Inkjet printers have one or more print heads that move from side to side on a carriage and belt assembly.
Black and Tri-color HP ink cartridges

Black and tri-color cartridges have an integrated printhead built into the cartridge, so every time you replace the cartridge you are replacing the printhead.

A Printer Failure. There is a problem with the printer or ink system. Turn printer off, then on. If problem persists, contact HP. error message displays on the printer control panel, and the printer does not print.
It`s handy for connection and communication problems. Use the printer troubleshooter. The Windows printer troubleshooter can be a great help for any issues that are `non-physical`. It won`t help with paper jams or leaking ink, but it can solve problems with communication between your printer and computer.
Fill a bowl with warm water (or a mixture of water and vinegar to clean the printhead) and place the printhead directly in it. Let it sit for five minutes or so. Pull the printhead out of the water and use a lint-free cloth or paper towel to remove the dried ink.
In Windows, go to Printer Properties > Maintenance > Clean Heads > OK and follow on-screen prompts.
A standard Print Head Cleaning cycle is done by clicking `Cleaning` on the Maintenance tab, then waiting a little bit until a message comes up; confirm it and click `Print Check Pattern. ` From this you can then tell what sort of Deep Clean you need to do by which lines (black or colour) are faded.
