Go to 123.hp.com to download and install the software. Open the HP Smart app, and then touch Add a New printer, or touch the Add icon to have the app search for your printer. Follow the prompts in the HP Smart app to connect the printer to your device. During setup, you may choose to sign up for HP+ or Instant Ink.

Inkjet printers sprays ink droplets while laser printers melt toner powder onto paper. With this difference in application between the two inkjet and laser printer types, it`s a common belief that smudging is more common with inkjet printers than laser.
Well, you can print duplex with the DeskJet Plus 4100 printer series. It appears that duplex (2-sided) printing on this printer series is a manual operation. If you have not done so, Install the Full Feature Software / full driver printer software.
Select Start > Settings . Go to Devices > Printers & scanners > select a printer > Manage. Then select Set as default. If you don`t see the Set as default option, the Let Windows manage my default printer option may be selected.
Our Verdict. The HP DeskJet 3755/3772 and the HP OfficeJet 250 are both compact printers with sheetfed scanners, but the OfficeJet 250 performs slightly better for most uses. It has a higher page yield, a lower cost-per-print, and a rechargeable battery. Also, it can print directly from a USB thumb drive.
While ink is standard in most conventional inkjet home printers, laser printers depend on toner and lasers for their output.
Deskjet is a brand name for inkjet printers manufactured by Hewlett-Packard. These printers range from small domestic to large industrial models, although the largest models in the range have generally been dubbed DesignJet.
Open the HP Smart app, and then create an account or sign in. If you do not have HP Smart, download it from 123.hp.com or your app store. From the app home screen, select your printer name or image. Click Printer Information to view the model name, product number, and serial number.
They have registered specific names, for example, “deskjet” is an inkjet which has been developed by the company HP for desk use at home or office. Inkjet technology is very different from laser printing which is used in machines like Xerox copiers.

ANSWER : I am pretty late to the party for this discussion but I am incredibly thankful to the person that posted this “fix” that I can barely imagine it. My 4100 had developed the dreaded paper jam described above and I had no idea what was causing it. I replaced a number of rollers only to have the same problem re-occur with no solution in sight.
