Sometimes a paper jam error persists even though there is no jammed paper (false paper jam). Reset the printer, which might clear a false paper jam error, and then try to print again. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer. Unplug the power cord from the power source.
your pickup roller is dirty and the printer can`t grab a piece of paper. it will say paper jam when it does this. get a drop of dishsoap and clean the pickup roller of your printer with this. scrape at it with your fingernail to get the roller clean and wipe it off with a damp washcloth.
If your printer has a paper path cover behind the carriage, remove the cover, and then remove any jammed paper. Pull out the input tray, and then remove any jammed paper. If your printer has a bottom cleanout door, carefully lift the printer and look under it, and then remove any jammed paper from the bottom cleanout.
During a print job, the printer stops feeding pages, and a Paper Jam error message displays on the printer control panel. This indicates that paper might be jammed inside the printer. note: Paper jams can be real or false. The printer might report a paper jam even when there is no jammed paper.
Dust, paper fiber, and other debris might accumulate on the paper feed rollers and cause paper jams and paper feed issues. Clean the rollers inside the printer, and then try to print again. Turn off the printer, and then disconnect the power cord.
A piece of paper stuck in the paper tray or inside the printer can create a paper jam. Paper jams can occur for a variety of reasons, such as overloading the paper tray, loading different thicknesses of paper in the tray, or using paper that isn`t appropriate for your particular printer.
Make sure that the paper is fully inserted into the product. Try printing again. If the issue is not resolved, try loading different brands of paper and different types of paper, one type at a time. Then, try printing again.
Contrary to its name, there is nothing supernatural or spooky about a ghost jam. Instead, ghost jamming refers to an issue whereby the copier reports a paper jam even though there is no paper being physically jammed within the copier. Such an occurrence is also known as a fake jam or a false jam.
Shut the printer off, get a flashlight, and try to see inside. Make sure no label fragments have jammed up your printer before proceeding. You might need to check underneath the printer and shake it out to dislodge any loose paper or other debris that may have gotten stuck inside.

Paper Jam error but no paper jam
ANSWER : Obviously you didn’t get all the paper cleared out. There is a small scrap in the paper path causing the jam when the paper hits it. You can try clearing it out by inserting something stiff like a piece of file folder from the back of the printer into the paper path and pushing the offending piece out that way.

HP LaserJet 4200 paper jam fix
ANSWER : Yes, thank you! You did a thorough post! If your still hacking away at HP’printers you will know that unfortunately HP kept using that type of solenoid with the “Sticky Mess” on all of their new Equipment. I use this method almost everyday (without removing the actual solenoid). I’ve replaced so many I got carried away and now, I sell a solenoid repair kit! It’s for those people that like convenience. I provide a professional supply of perfect material with sticky back tape pre-cut to exact dimensions! All in a little kit. I have install videos, (I don’t charge for that I believe in the Do-it -Yourself approach.) Sorry for the sales pitch… but here is my link.

Paper Jam 13
ANSWER : Sticky paper pickup solenoid. Since MF tray doesn’t use it, it works fine. Solenoid is located on right side of printer at the end of the paper pickup roller shaft. You need to remove the solenoid, take the plate and spring off the top and then scrape off the gooey residue that’s causing it to stick. Then you get a thin piece of sticky backed felt and put it on top of the metal base. You can find some at the local hardware store, they’re used on the bottom of chair legs.
