How to Identify and Fix Common Problems ?

Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced technical support :

If a printer turns off automatically, it`s likely because of the auto-off feature. Yes, modern printers ship with a feature called auto-off designed to help save power when the printer is not in use.
The Auto-Off or Power Save Mode setting might be enabled. This setting causes the printer to turn completely off after a set period of time (usually two hours). This feature can be disabled through a printer`s software or control panel. Go to HP Customer Support to search for support documentation for your printer.
Sometimes Print Spooler service can keep stopping because of Print Spooler files – too many, pending, or corrupt files. Deleting your print spooler files can clear pending print jobs, or the too many files or solve the corrupt files to resolve the problem.
Do you sometimes send a print job to a device that`s been turned off? An industry first, HP Auto-On/Auto-Off technology gives you more control over your energy consumption and ensures that your printing devices are automatically turned on when you need them and off when you don`t.
Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers. Right-click the printer in question, then select Printer Preferences. Look for an option to disable sleep or time-out mode.
Check Paper Tray and Printer Connection

Verify your printer`s ink levels, clean the printhead, fill the paper tray, and avoid using substandard paper. Low-quality paper can cause “Ghost Paper Jams” and other issues that stop your printer from printing documents.

You can leave the Printer ON all the time and it is safe. You can setup the Energy Saving Mode to put the Printer in Sleep Mode when not in use. 1.
To disable the setting:

Go to General > Energy Settings. Under Sleep Settings, select the Sleep after inactivity checkbox. Enter 15 in the box below. It indicates that the Printer goes to sleep in 15 minutes if there is no activity on the Printer.

Printers pause when they need attention. Whether your device ran out of paper or one or more of its ink or toner cartridges needs replacement, it stops printing pages until you replenish its supplies.
Some of the most common printer problems that most of us have experienced include paper jamming, slow printing, uneven printing, and wrong colour output. If you use your printer frequently, we know how annoying it can be to have persisting problems with the printer.
The Auto Power Off function automatically turns off the printer when there are no operations from the printer driver or the printer for a specified period of time. Open the printer driver setup window. Make sure that the printer is on and then click Auto Power on the Maintenance tab.
Sleep automatically preserves your open documents and programs in memory and shuts down all nonessential functions. Figure : Software power button.
The yield of a typical toner cartridge in a laser printer is between 2,500 and 3,000 pages. Some larger laser printers can even have toners that will yield up to 30,000 pages! In addition, modern printers are vulnerable to hackers.
If you keep the printer turn on for long periods of time, it will not have much of an effect on the printer`s components. It does not cause the printer to malfunction. If you want to reduce your electricity consumption, you can avoid keeping your laser printer on all the time.
To keep your printer lasting longer, we recommend leaving your printer on. If it is off for a long period of time or if you turn it on and off again regularly, the printhead inside the printer will dry out faster. When you leave it on, you may hear the printer start up every once in a while and begin to calibrate.
As print quality goes down over time, this will be a reason to replace the color printer. We find a black and white printer can sometimes last 10 years or more and most color laser printers are replaced every 3 to 5 years.
Ink cartridges can usually last two or three years if properly packaged and stored. But in a standard case, they will eventually dry out and become useless after this period. However, many major ink cartridge makers don`t put expiration dates on their cartridges.
The monthly duty cycle limit is 30,000 pages, with a recommended monthly duty cycle of 500 to 3500 pages. The sort of print job you`re running can be very stressful on the printer; I`d suggest that you allow the printer to cool down for 10-15 minutes every 500 or so pages.
They may contain some bug fixes, which makes your device work better, safer, and more efficiently. Every well-known printer manufacturer releases firmware updates several times a year. Yet, it`s only up to you whether to install them or not.
Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Printers. Right-click your printer icon, and click Printing Preferences. The screen displays the Printing Preferences window, which contains the Layout, Paper/Quality, User Defined Paper and Extension Settings menus. These menus display the printer driver settings.
Paper Jams

This is a common laser printer problem. Primary causes include grime, dust, worn rollers, or incorrect paper weight. The most basic way to prevent paper jams is simply through regular cleaning of your printer. Also, replace parts as needed.

This could be an overheating issue, or a motherboard issue, or a power issue. Check that the internal fan is still working (by listening for its noise, or feeling for the breeze that it should generate).
On your PC, Select the Start button, then select Settings > Apps > Startup. Look for HP Smart and turn it OFF. If you don`t see the Startup option in Settings, right-click the Start button, select Task Manager, then select the Startup tab. (If you don`t see the Startup tab, select More details.)

Prints blank pages, won't print from computer
ANSWER : Don’t know why you replaced the fuser, but assuming you had print before, then it must have been something you did during the procedure. Only thing I can suggest is to recheck your work. Just because you reinstalled a connector doesn’t mean that it is seated firmly enough to work. Any flat ribbon connectors that you removed and reinstalled, check to see that the contacts are all flat and not peeled back.

Print file sent but no printing occurs
ANSWER : Been working on these since they first were released. Never seen a problem like yours. If it happens again, try doing an engine test, as it bypasses the formatter board. The engine test is located at the right side of the manual tray opening. Look for a hole in the side wall. Stick something like a paper clip into it to actuate the test button. It will then print a lined test page. If it does that, then it points to the formatter board as the cause of your problem.
