The 50.2 fuser error message is a “Slow Fuser” error, which is a time-out error where the fuser is not warming up fast enough. If you see the error message “50.2 Fuser Error” on your HP Color LaserJet 2820 or 2840 series printer, you probably need to replace the fuser.

ANSWER : It seems like it might be a 4240 board. The 4240 was pretty much the same printer, but sold for $200 less. The downside is that it wouldn’t accept the 42X cartridges.
