An Er/03 error message indicates the printer failed to pick a sheet of paper to print. Remove the stack of paper from the tray and check the condition of the paper. Reload the paper, and then try to print, copy or scan.
The printer is either low in toner, the density is set too low, or the Economode may be turned on. Remove the toner cartridge and shake it. This will redistribute the toner and often will temporarily solve the problem. However, this usually indicates it is time to install a new cartridge.
Er/11, Er/14, or Er/17: The toner cartridge is not compatible with the printer, has been protected on another printer, or is an unauthorized toner cartridge.

The error code 004-311 indicates an issue with the optional duplex module. Switch the printer off, reseat the duplexer then switch the printer back on.

ANSWER : Definitely not a solenoid problem. I’ve worked on tens of thousands of printers and never replaced a single solenoid. You probably knocked something loose when you installed the pickup roller. Maybe something to do with the gear on the end of the pickup roller shaft. You’ll need to take the gear assembly off to be able to see it.
