The printer is either low in toner, the density is set too low, or the Economode may be turned on. Remove the toner cartridge and shake it. This will redistribute the toner and often will temporarily solve the problem. However, this usually indicates it is time to install a new cartridge.
An E1 or E2 error indicates the paper size setting does not match the paper size loaded in the input tray. Load the correct size paper or change the print settings, and then press the Cancel button . Go to HP Printers – Paper Mismatch error (Windows, Mac) for more information.

Troubleshoot a blinking orange light on HP DeskJet.
It indicates firmware issues, paper jams, or improperly installed cartridges. Resolve it by performing a power reset of your printer.
The blinking power light indicates that the unit has a cartridge problem. There could be several reasons for this: 1. Incorrect, defective or swapped cartridges.
Most printers will stop working when they`re out of paper, ink or toner, or if the unit detects an issue with the ink or toner cartridge. When this occurs, you might receive an error message or notice blinking green or amber lights on your printer.
41.2 Error Code on HP Laser Printers
The arcing occurs in the toner/transfer area, and can be caused by a defective toner cartridge, bad high voltage or ground connections to the toner cartridge or transfer roller, or a defective high voltage power supply.
Sometimes power cycling your printer can resolve the issue. Turn off your printer and unplug it, wait 30 seconds, plug your printer back in, and then turn the printer back on.
Check that the correct paper is properly loaded into the printer and is not jammed. Replacing damaged cables, plugging in loose or disconnected cables, and fixing paper jams as necessary may resolve the issue.

HP Laserjet 4 Plus LED display dim
My HP Laserjet Plus’s LED display went blank around 6 weeks ago. It had been acting strangely for about a month, when ready, instead of the usual 00 READY it would display 000READY, which got my attention. Well, it suddenly went entirely AWOL. The service manual said to check:
HP Laserjet 6MP wont feed paper
I had a similar paper pickup problem on laserjet 6mp. The printer would go through start-up sequence fine but when it received a print job you could here the main gears/rollers turning but no clicking from paper pickup solenoid, then eventually error lights would come one . I incorrectly assumed it was an error with the paper pickup mechanism and wasted a whole day taking the printer apart and replacing the paper pick mechanism. Long story short, if I had bothered to figure out the secondary error light codes from the start, I would have realized it was just a bad fuser and would not have wasted so much time.
LaserJet 4 won't Power Up
I haven’t seen that particular behavior on that model. It either works or it doesn’t. My first choice would be the power supply.
HP Laserjet 2200, Tray 2 Pickup Problem, Gears Clicking
Definitely not a solenoid problem. I’ve worked on tens of thousands of printers and never replaced a single solenoid. You probably knocked something loose when you installed the pickup roller. Maybe something to do with the gear on the end of the pickup roller shaft. You’ll need to take the gear assembly off to be able to see it.
