The message `Fuser Error` or `Self-Diagnostic` means either the fuser has reached the maximum temperature allowed or there has been an error in detection of the correct temperature during specific times of the printing process.
This error might display if the fuser temperature becomes too hot. Follow these steps to turn off the printer and allow the fuser to cool before printing again. Press the Power button to turn off the printer. Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
When a 50.4F. 00 error is displayed on the control panel, it indicates that there is an issue with the fuser or the power outlet where the printer is connected. Turn the printer off, and then back on to clear the error. Ensure that the power outlet, to which the printer is connected, is in good working condition.
Error 50.2 suggests the fuser can`t heat up properly. This might be fuser failure but could also be a power supply issue. Plug the printer directly into a wall socket, not into an extension. Try turning off, wait 20 minutes then on again.
A component found in electrostatic printers, laser printers, and xerographic printers and photocopiers. The fuser unit is used to permanently bond toner to a substrate by applying heat and pressure. A fuser unit is made up of two rollers; one to apply heat and one to apply pressure.
Streaking, smudging, black lines, and double images are all symptoms of a bad fuser. When you notice these printing defects and experience problems, such as paper jams or wrinkles, this is a good sign to replace the fuser kit.
A 42 or Toner Cartridge Region Mismatch error indicates that the installed toner cartridge is manufactured for a different geographic region than the printer. The printer and the toner cartridge each have a certain geographical code tagged to them, much like the coding on DVD players and DVDs.
Look inside the fuser opening to make sure there is no debris or jammed paper. Remove any debris or jammed paper, if found. Hold the handles on each side of the fuser and reinstall it in the printer.
If you have NOT recently replaced the fuser or heavily jostled the printer around, then the 50.7 Fuser error indicates you have an actual fuser failure (the gearing pressure is not releasing) and the fuser needs replacing.
The fuser unit or fuser assembly, is a critical component of your laser printer. Using pressure and heat, it fuses the toner powder onto the page to create a print, and without out it, your printer cannot operate.
The toner is rolled onto the substrate as it passes the drum; toner particles with negative charge get attracted to the paper with the positive charge and thus produce the desired image. The fuser unit or hot roller is used to melt the toner powder, which is essentially plastic, onto the paper.
Usually stored in a single cartridge, printer toner is a powder-based print medium made from granulated plastics that allows for greater accuracy and control. Toner powder is collected and then transferred to paper by the charged printing drum.
The P4014 series use a thin fuser sleeve as a medium to heat the paper. Error 50.8 suggests one end of the fuser is not heating up which may be damage to the sleeve or heavy media.
This error displays because the Fuser Unit cannot maintain a normal operating temperature. Power the printer off and then on. If the problem persists, contact Support for additional assistance as the Fuser Assembly may need to be replaced.
Fuser Units
The coating wears off and causes the toner to not fuse properly. There are replacement rollers and sleeves on the market that you can replace and turn a non-functional fuser into a good working one. Rebuilding fuser assemblies is not a new thing.
A laser printer that can perform two-sided, or duplex, printing will have a fuser with two heated rollers. Both rollers in the fuser get hot and melt the toner powder onto both sides of the page at the same time. The two rollers inside a fuser work together to melt and fuse the text or image onto a sheet of paper.
The HP LaserJet Fuser helps make sure your HP toner is applied to your paper evenly and with vivid color and detail on every page without putting a major dent in your budget. It lets you print up to 150,000 pages of dynamic quality before you need to replace it.
Streaking, smudging, black lines, and double images are all symptoms of a bad fuser. When you notice these printing defects and experience problems, such as paper jams or wrinkles, this is a good sign to replace the fuser kit.

HP Laserjet 2200, Tray 2 Pickup Problem, Gears Clicking
ANSWER : Definitely not a solenoid problem. I’ve worked on tens of thousands of printers and never replaced a single solenoid. You probably knocked something loose when you installed the pickup roller. Maybe something to do with the gear on the end of the pickup roller shaft. You’ll need to take the gear assembly off to be able to see it.
