How to Identify and Fix Common Problems ?

First, remove and reinstall the designated cartridge 2-3 times until it securely sits in the slot to overcome an HP printer cartridge error. Next, turn off the printer and take out all the cartridges. Gently wipe the cartridge and carriage contacts with a dry, lint-free cloth and reinstall again.
There is no reset button on an ink cartridge by HP either. However, the process of its resetting is similar to an entertaining game, and if done correctly, you`ll be back to printing in only a few minutes. Remove your cartridge from the printer and refill it with ink if needed.
Using a generic or refilled ink cartridge won`t automatically void your warranty, but it`s important to note that any damage caused specifically from using a non-HP ink product won`t be covered by the warranty for your HP printer.
Disable the Cartridge Policy feature

In the Device Management pane, select the printers (or printer group) to configure. In the bottom navigation pane, select Config, and then select Supplies. In the Cartridge Policy section, select Off. Click Apply.

Even though cartridges appear similar, unfortunately, they are not interchangeable. The HP 60, 61, 62, 63, 64, 65 and HP 67 series for example, all have a similar cartridge design but work in different printers. Remove their cartridge labels and it is hard to tell them apart!
The ink cartridges may not have been installed using the correct procedure, or they may not be seated correctly.
Verify the ink cartridge(s) is inserted properly. Some cartridges snap in place, and if they are not inserted fully, the printer won`t print anything. If a lever is moved from its original position to allow for installation of ink cartridges, ensure it is returned to its original position.
HP`s “dynamic security” prevents you from using third-party ink with HP printers. While HP does this to “protect the quality of our customer experience,” being able to buy cheaper, non-HP ink can save you money.
You can continue to print with one or more empty cartridges, but HP recommends replacing them as soon as possible to avoid printhead damage. 932, 933, 950, 951-959, 962-969 cartridges: Ink is required in all cartridges to print and to perform periodic servicing to prevent clogs and other print quality issues.

Resetting of chip for hp toner Q6000A
ANSWER : HP Color Laser Jet 1600 – Thanks for all the above information. Even though the 1600 is a different printer, I followed the above: “…go to “System Configuration”; then to “Print Quality”; I then get a choice of “Replace Supplies” and then “Overide Out”…” Selecting “Overide Out” got my 1600 back to printing, although I did have do perform the steps TWICE before it seemed to take affect. Not sure what was going on, but I’m happy that people put the information out there for the rest of us to have.

Expired Ink Cartridges – Any way to move paper with old cartridges?
