The streaks or lines might be caused due to low ink levels in one or both ink cartridges. Check the ink levels using the HP Toolbox to determine if the ink cartridges are low on ink and need to be replaced. note: Ink level warnings and indicators provide estimates for planning purposes only.
A printer printing lines on the page are normally caused by a blocked, dirty, or damaged print head. Blocked ink cartridge nozzles, or not removing protective seals correctly when you installed a new ink cartridge can also cause missing lines of print.
There are four primary causes for horizontal banding on prints from inkjet printers, (1) nozzle clogs, (2) mis-aligned print heads, (3) low quality print settings (4) incorrect paper thickness settings. Below we will describe each of these causes for horizontal banding as well as ways to try and fix them.
A horizontal line is a straight line that goes from left to right or right to left. In coordinate geometry, a line is said to be horizontal if two points on the line have the same Y- coordinate points. It comes from the term “horizon”. It means that the horizontal lines are always parallel to the horizon or the x-axis.
If you notice white or dark lines in your prints (also called banding), try these solutions before you reprint: Run a nozzle check to see if any of the print head nozzles are clogged. Then clean the print head, if necessary. Make sure the paper type setting matches the type of paper you loaded.
Streaks and unwanted lines could mean that the printer heads are out of alignment. There`s an alignment tool in the printer`s control panel. If that`s not the issue then the printer is dirty. Printer ink stripes may appear along the edges of the paper, which means there`s ink on the rollers and other parts.

When your printer leaves black lines, the lines indicate that there are excess toner powders on the rollers or transfer belt within the printer. As the paper is moved along by the rollers and transfer belt, any excess powder left on them can result in lines being left on the paper.
If your laser printer is causing horizontal black lines you either have a problem with the optics or the drum. Cleaning the optics and replacing the drum should fix the problem in most cases.
The band-shaped “stripes” are called “horizontal bands” or “banding.” Horizontal bands are caused by the subtle changes in the movement distance that occur when feeding the media depending on the media`s thickness. We recommend making corrections to match the media you are using.
Click the Settings Menu > Maintenance > Print Head Nozzle Check. Confirm you want to print a nozzle check. A nozzle check is a series of CMYK horizontal lines. If any of the horizontal lines are missing in the set, it means that color ink has blocked nozzles.
Double printing can occur for several possible reasons including an improperly seated ink tank, a misaligned print head, and a dirty encoder stip. Select one of the links below to get detailed instructions to address the issue. Check that all ink tanks are seated properly. Refer to Replace an ink tank.
Horizontal lines indicate a sense of motionless rest and peace. Vertical lines are seen as tall and represent grandeur. Horizontal and vertical lines used together in a square or rectangular shape convey structure and represent stability.
The horizontal line graphis is called x-axis.
HP has determined that 99% of all lines and streaks on copies made by feeding the original documents through the ADF are caused by debris on the ADF glass. Debris can include dust, paper or toner dust, residue from sticky note adhesive, correction fluid or tape, ink, fingerprints, and more.
If you use traditional analog technology to send a fax, you can test the fax line by making a phone call. Dial the recipient`s number and listen to a fax machine`s sound. The fax line is active and working if you hear a tone or beeping sound.
The simplest and most direct way to find a fax number is to contact the person or business directly and ask what their fax number is.
Vertical lines on copies, sent faxes, or scanned documents are typically caused by dirt, ink, corrective fluid, or other debris stuck on the ADF scanner glass. Cleaning the ADF scanner glass properly should resolve this issue.
Is a Phone Line Required to Send or Receive Faxes from a Printer? Yes, you need a phone line to fax from a printer. However, if you don`t have a phone line to connect to your printer, you may sign up for an online fax service like eFax to fax from a printer—no phone lines necessary!
If so, are there any tell-tale signs? TAPPING a fax line is no different from tapping an ordinary phone line.
The fax line number is the number where it can be reached and the number that will show up on caller ID when it dials out. Fax machines also have a setting for the fax number that appears as the header on all faxes that it sends.
Also known as Provincetown printmaking, white line printmaking began in 1914 as an alternative to Japanese printmaking in which each color of the print has its own woodblock. American printmakers carved an entire design into one block, using the carved lines to separate areas that would have different colors.
If your printouts are blurry or smeared, try these solutions: Make sure your paper is not damp, curled, old, or loaded incorrectly in your product. Use a support sheet with special paper, or load special paper one sheet at a time. Make sure your paper meets the specifications for your product.
If the printer is in Line Print, it will print any content as required. However, it will not interpret the commands unless you set the printer to ZPL or EPL mode. For example, if the printer is in line-print, send this command: ! U1 setvar “device.languages” “line_print” The command above will print on the label.

HP CM2320fxi – Groaning / Vertical Lines
ANSWER : Sounds like you need a monochrome laser printer. I know you want to keep what you already have but it just doesn’t make sense to have to deal with a machine that is meant to provide color printing when you only want black and white printing. Chuck the color laser and get a black and white printer. It will save you money and headaches in the long run.
