Status indicator light: A blue or green light indicates the printer is operating correctly, while red indicates an error has occurred. Indicator light color.
The Power light blinks at a steady interval when the printer is processing a print job. If the Power light blinks fast, the ink cartridge door might be open, or the printer might be in an error state. What Does Color Printer Mean? A color printer is a printer that allows for pages or other items to be printed in color.
The most common reason for getting faded prints is having empty or defective toner cartridges. It is unbelievably frequent that people forget to replace their empty toner cartridges and struggle to figure out why their printers print faintly. Another common reason is that people use defective cartridges.

The “four-color” in “four-color printing” refers to the four ink colors—cyan, magenta, yellow, and black (CMYK)—used in offset printing presses and many digital presses. These four colors are combined to make a wide range of colors.
The Three Color Technique: the Foundation of Modern Printing

The three color technique utilizes the primary colors cyan (blue), magenta (red), yellow as well as black to create a veritable kaleidoscope of colors.

Why is my printer printing yellow not red? It is most likely that your image is yellow where you were expecting it to be red and you may also notice that blue parts of the image appear turquoise instead. Both of these effects are caused by a lack of magenta ink/toner on your prints.
Scanners, digital cameras and computer monitors use red, green and blue (RGB) light to display color. Commercial printing presses print with cyan, magenta, yellow and black (CMYK) ink, called process printing, instead of RGB light, and therefore produce a different range of color.
Five-color printing uses the four-color process method, applying the four standard inks, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black, to create a full color document, but adds a spot color PMS ink to accurately reproduce a specific color.
The answer is yes, your printer uses a bit of all colors (black, cyan, magenta, yellow) every time it prints. According to HP Support, “[our] printers are designed in such a way that it also uses color inks while printing in black to form a perfect black. This is called as K-fortification in printer terms.
As its name implies, 4 ink colors are used in 4-Color Process printing. These four colors are Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black- which are known collectively as CMYK.

HP deskjet 460 Waste ink tank full
ANSWER : I worked fixing printers for 5 years for Verizon and some of the older printers were notorious for the waste receptacle filling and overflowing with ink. My solution was good old warm water. Remove the waste container and scoop out as much as you can with a small screwdriver, wiping the discard on a paper towel, then just run warm water from the faucet into the container till all the residue is removed. This is just water soluble ink folks, if you want to test it, scoop out a glob and dissolve it in warm water, its easy as pie. I never once bought a new ink discard reservoir. I just cleaned out my mobile 460 printer reservoir by the same method. There are no electrical connections its just all plastic.
