Overview The HP Deskjet printer was introduced in February 1988. Since that time, more than 240 million Deskjet printers have been sold worldwide and continue to sell at a pace of more than 18 million printers per year.
HP all-in-one inkjet printers under the Deskjet brand exist, starting with the HP Deskjet F380 printer/scanner/copier, introduced in 2006, using HP Vivera inks, and offering print speeds of 20 ppm in black-and-white, and 14 ppm in color. Today, HP sells various Deskjets.
Best for simple, everyday printing. Choose HP+ and get up to 6 months of HP Instant Ink included and one extra year of HP customer support. * After 6 months, a monthly fee will be charged automatically unless cancelled.
If you look at the back door cover of the printer there is a label that has your model number serial number and also includes the date of manufactuer. Hope this helps. Here are our recommendations: Generally, the average lifespan of an inkjet printer is around 3-5 years under normal usage. If you use the printer more frequently than average or if you`re using it for a business, you might find the life of your printer is shorter.
Deskjet printers are slower than their inkjet counterparts, but they are cheaper to produce and usually require less maintenance. They also produce higher-quality text and graphics than inkjet printers. Deskjet printers are best for users who don`t have a lot of printing needs.
Inkjet printers are cheaper than Deskjets. However, the quality of ink used in inkjet printers is not as good in comparison with that used by Deskjets. The fonts visible on paper will have smoother edges when printed through a Deskjet printer.
The service is required at setup when you purchase laser printers from HP that come with HP+, but if you buy an inkjet, HP+ supported printer, you`ll have the option not to sign up or use it to set up your printer.
The average lifespan of a printer is around three to five years, though this metric will vary depending on the make and model of your printer and various external factors.
The seventh alpha character of the serial number indicates the month of production and the eighth digit of the serial number indicates the year of production.
Dates are commonly found on the side of the printer cartridge or on the side of the cartridge box. Like food expiration dates, cartridge expiration dates should be taken with a grain of salt.
A good rule of thumb: if your printer is more than seven years old, you may want to start pricing new units. In this case, even a relatively inexpensive component is not worth the investment.
For healthier print heads and more efficient ink consumption, however, it`s better to leave your printer on. Constantly switching your printer off and on will decrease your printer`s lifespan, so try to keep the off/on to a minimum.
The HP Officejet Pro 8620 is an all–in–one printer produced by HP released in 2014 and replaced in 2016 by the HP Officejet Pro 8720.
Printing on 5% = 480 pages (the official page yield). Printing on 10% = 240 pages. Printing on 20% = 120 pages. Printing on 40% = 60 pages.
Here`s a quick and simple answer: Ink cartridges are expensive so companies can make a profit. Most printers are sold at a loss. A manufacturer makes money NOT by selling consumers an inkjet or laser printer, but by selling the supplies needed to print. The manufacturer controls the technology and the prices.
After all, expired printer cartridges from HP can be used without any problems even one to two years beyond the expiration date without any restrictions. However, once the printer cartridges are even older, you should overlook using them. This is especially true if your printer has a standalone print head.
Another major advantage of laser printers is they print much faster and produce higher-quality prints than inkjet printers do. For example, the Xerox VersaLink B405, a laser printer, prints at speeds of up to 47 pages per minute (ppm), while the HP DeskJet 3755, an inkjet printer, only prints up to 8 ppm.
If you`re mainly paperless, don`t do much photo or vibrant colour printing, then an inkjet printer is going to be the better choice. However, a Deskjet printer is a great choice if you have higher printing needs. If you have a home office that needs a quality printer, then they`re a great choice.
Canon is the one. It is well known for its printing speed and technology. The Canon PIXMA G670 comes in black and has six different ink colour options.
There is a common misconception that a wireless printer requires an internet connection or Wi-Fi to print. But the truth is, you can actually use a wireless printer without the internet, and even you can use wireless printer without a wifi router which we will explain at the end of this article.
When color ink is expended and black ink still remains, you can continue printing for a short time using only black ink. However, you should replace the expended ink cartridge(s) as soon as possible. See the following section to continue printing temporarily with black ink.
Introduction. For the best print quality, HP recommends HP Premium Inkjet papers. Paper that is too thin, too slick, or too stretchy can jam the product. Paper that has a rough or fibrous texture or that does not accept ink can cause printouts to smear, bleed, or not be filled in completely.

HP deskjet 460 Waste ink tank full
ANSWER : I worked fixing printers for 5 years for Verizon and some of the older printers were notorious for the waste receptacle filling and overflowing with ink. My solution was good old warm water. Remove the waste container and scoop out as much as you can with a small screwdriver, wiping the discard on a paper towel, then just run warm water from the faucet into the container till all the residue is removed. This is just water soluble ink folks, if you want to test it, scoop out a glob and dissolve it in warm water, its easy as pie. I never once bought a new ink discard reservoir. I just cleaned out my mobile 460 printer reservoir by the same method. There are no electrical connections its just all plastic.
