How to Identify and Fix Common Problems ?

At the Windows Manage your device screen, click Printing preferences. On the HP printer`s Printing Preferences screen, click the Color tab. Under Color Options, either: Click the Automatic radio button to print in color.
Individual HP ink cartridges

Printers that use individual HP ink usually need a set of four color cartridges: black, cyan, magenta, and yellow.

Check the options on the property tabs to make sure that the appropriate color options are selected. If there is a checkmark in the box by Print in Grayscale, click in the box to remove the checkmark, and then click OK. Try printing again.
Monitors display colors by light pixels using an RGB (red, green, blue) color process, but printers print colors using a CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black) process.
You can easily identify a black & white or color printer in the print area, by looking at the circular wheel next to the printer number visible at the front of the printer.
The “four-color” in “four-color printing” refers to the four ink colors—cyan, magenta, yellow, and black (CMYK)—used in offset printing presses and many digital presses. These four colors are combined to make a wide range of colors.
The Four Base Colors

As we previously mentioned, color printer ink cartridges rely on four colors: black, magenta, cyan, and yellow. These color values can be combined to create every other color when reproducing an image.

Run a nozzle check to see if any of the print head nozzles are clogged. Then clean the print head, if necessary. The ink cartridges may be old or low on ink, and you may need to replace them. Your printed colors can never exactly match your on-screen colors.
HP EasyColor scans documents and automatically adjusts photographic images in . JPEG or . PNG format. Rather than dividing an image into several pieces, HP EasyColor technology enhances the entire image at one time, which results in improved color consistency, sharper details, and faster printing.
Open up your printer driver software and check on the status of your ink or toner cartridges. Replacing these cartridges could immediately solve the problem. It may also solve the problem of a printer skipping lines if the cartridge is misaligned.
RGB is used in electronic devices, like computer monitors, while printing uses CMYK. When RGB is converted to CMYK, colors can look muted. Designers were often disappointed when their printed piece looked different than what they had been seeing on screen.
Navigate to Window > Color > Color to bring up the Color panel if it is not already open. You will see colors measured in individual percentages of CMYK or RGB, depending on your document`s color mode.
CMYK (Process or Full Color)

CMYK color code is also used for printing. This color type is achieved by superimposing a series of dots in the four colors (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, & blacK) to produce various color results. CMYK is mainly used in most print industries, our stickers are printed using CMYK as well.

Most standard inkjet printers use dye-based ink as this is the cheaper ink type. Dye-based inks are super sharp for text and create rich, vibrant colors in your images. They are not waterproof, however, and tend to fade in 5-25 years.
If one cartridge is running low, you do not have to replace the other colors at the same time. However, you do need to have all of the printer cartridges installed in the printer for it to work.
After all, colors will pop more against a rich black than they will against gray. When you order full color print, we recommend using 80% cyan, 80% magenta, 80% yellow, and 95% black to ensure that your black appears as dark and rich as possible.
Your computer monitor uses the RGB model to create colors on the screen, whereas the printer uses the CMYK model to put the colors on paper. Thus, printers cannot replicate all the colors that a monitor does. Also, it is quite challenging to convert on-screen colors to CMYK and replicate them for printing.
Even when you are printing black text only, a small amount of color ink is used to keep the print head charged. The print head needs to be kept charged to prevent air bubbles from entering. Air bubbles can damage the print head.
The official HP colors are HP Blue, black and white. We recommend using the HP color palette for personal projects and in the case of commercial use to visit the company website.
Just above the circuit board on most printer cartridges, you`ll find a small button. You`ve seen these tiny buttons before on cell phones, phone chargers, etc. This is your reset button, and the only way to get in there is either with a paper clip or the tip of a pen (which will leave a tiny ink smudge on the button).
A common cause of faded, faint printouts from your inkjet printer is dried ink particles causing a blockage in your printer. The printheads on an ink cartridge can be become blocked if the printer is not used for a period of time, so it is recommended to print a few pages each month to maintain the print quality.
Make sure that none of the ink cartridges are empty. If the cyan or yellow run out, you`ll get a definite red/pink hue to the printouts. – Verify that the paper type setting in whatever application you`re using, matches the paper type you`re using.
CMYK is a four-color process and stands for cyan, magenta, yellow and key (black), and is preferred for use on printed materials because it helps achieve a true color.

HP deskjet 460 Waste ink tank full
ANSWER : I worked fixing printers for 5 years for Verizon and some of the older printers were notorious for the waste receptacle filling and overflowing with ink. My solution was good old warm water. Remove the waste container and scoop out as much as you can with a small screwdriver, wiping the discard on a paper towel, then just run warm water from the faucet into the container till all the residue is removed. This is just water soluble ink folks, if you want to test it, scoop out a glob and dissolve it in warm water, its easy as pie. I never once bought a new ink discard reservoir. I just cleaned out my mobile 460 printer reservoir by the same method. There are no electrical connections its just all plastic.
