The paper trays are overloaded. The paper is curled. The print side, or shiny side, of the paper is not loaded in the tray face down. The paper guides are too tight against the paper stack.
Usually a quick paper setting adjustment will clear up a ghosting issue right away. Run a cleaning – Most printers have a cleaning function built into the machine. A typical ink cartridge will yield 250 to 300 pages depending on the color density of the prints. The yield of a typical toner cartridge in a laser printer is between 2,500 and 3,000 pages. Some larger laser printers can even have toners that will yield up to 30,000 pages!

Duplex printing means that you can print on both sides of the paper with your printer either automatically or manually by turning the paper over after the first side has printed. To duplex print, your model will need to have the functionality built-in.
Ghost prints happen when the drum or fuser unit within your printer become faulty. Because a fault with this element won`t heat the particles of the toner to a high enough temperature, the marks being made on the paper are much lighter in colour and appear more faded than typical documents.
Printing on both sides of paper is called duplex printing. Most printers offer the option of automatically printing on both sides of a sheet of paper (automatic duplex printing). Other printers provide instructions so that you can manually reinsert pages to print the second side (manual duplex printing).
One side of the leaf is one page, and the other side is another page. So if you opt for single-sided printing, one side counts as one page. If you select double-sided printing (i.e. you want your work printed on the front and back of a single leaf), then that will count as two pages or two sides.

Here`s a quick calculation you can do to get a rough idea of how many pages your cartridge will print. The manufacturer`s capacity is based on 5% of the page being covered in ink or toner, but if you are printing large shaded areas or more than 4 paragraphs of text, we generally print at more like 10 – 15% coverage.
The duty cycle varies depending on the make and model of the printer and its intended use. Personal printers typically used in a home office can handle a few thousand pages per month, while larger models for business use can handle upwards of 100,000 pages per month.
Laser printer speed can vary widely, and depends on many factors, including the graphic intensity of the job being processed. The fastest models can print over 200 monochrome pages per minute (12,000 pages per hour). The fastest color laser printers can print over 100 pages per minute (6000 pages per hour).
As print quality goes down over time, this will be a reason to replace the color printer. We find a black and white printer can sometimes last 10 years or more and most color laser printers are replaced every 3 to 5 years.
For commercial applications, high-end printers can print up to 100 pages per minute. Black and white printing can still produce images, using shades of gray in place of colors while improving your print speed dramatically over the speed of printing in color.
It will take exactly one hour to print 600 pages !

My 2550n Color LaserJet does not want to print in color
ANSWER : That model had issues with the carousel solenoid sticking. That might explain why it works after you let it sit for 10 minutes. The solenoid gets hotter with use which causes the deteriorated foam on it to become sticky and hold down the release plate instead of letting it go. This allows the carousel to spin when it is supposed to stop for each color. The solenoid is located on the right side of the printer. If you open the lid, it is just behind the opening at the top right. You need to remove the top of the printer and scrape off the goo on top of the solenoid body. I put a piece of thin sticky backed felt to replace it. Other people use electrical tape.

ANSWER : What about the engine test? To do that, drop down the front tray. Feel around on the left side at the top and you’ll feel a little plastic dongle. If you lift up on that it will initiate an engine test page. That will be a page containing lines of each color.

Reset HP Color Laserjet 4700 transfer kit
ANSWER : How about the situation when resistor does not reset the transfer belt count and even new transfer belt out of the box is not doing it. Do you have any idea how to solve this problem? I did reset transfer belts and fusing units on several HL 4700 printers with no problem but also I came across few which were not possible to reset even with oryginal parts.
