Remove the sheets of paper from the printer so that the printer does not start printing the alignment pages. Disconnect the power cable from the printer while the printer is still ON. Disconnect any other cables if connected the printer. Press and hold the printer`s power button for 15 seconds.
Perform an alignment
Open the HP Smart app, and then click the printer image. Click Print Quality Tools, and then select Align or Align Printheads. If prompted by the software or printer control panel to scan the Alignment Page, follow the instructions on the page to complete the alignment.

Print head alignment corrects the installation positions of the print head and improves deviated colors and lines.
Open Printers or Printers and Faxes / Devices and Printers. Right-click on the icon for the relevant printer or All-In-One and left-click on Printing Preferences. Click on the Maintenance or Utility tab. Then click on Print Head Alignment.
If your printouts become grainy or blurry, you notice misalignment of vertical lines, or you see dark or light horizontal bands, you may need to align the print head. You can align the print head automatically from the control panel or your computer, or align it manually from the control panel.

Solution one: Remove the ink cartridges and the printhead, restart the printer, and then reinstall the printhead and the ink cartridges. Removing and reinstalling the ink cartridges and the printhead can clear the error displayed on the front panel.
