How to Identify and Fix Common Problems ?
Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced technical support :
Check the ink level on your printer and replace the low ink cartridge. Clean the printhead. The printhead could be clogged, and you might need to clean the printhead several times to restore print quality. Use an automated tool from the printer control panel to clean the printhead.
This can happen when ink on printhead would dry out. To maintain a printer while having a low monthly print volume, it is important to print (do a print test page if you don`t have any file to print) at least once a week. A Test Print allows you to know if the problems are from empty ink levels or clogged printheads.
How can I override my HP ink cartridge? Remove and reinstall the indicated cartridge slots 2-3 times until it firmly sits in place to override the HP ink cartridge error. After doing this, turn off the printer and remove all the cartridges.
The hex code for yellow is #FFFF00.
Replace any low, empty or faulty ink cartridges on your printer. Dust or paper residue on the rollers or separator pad inside the automatic document feeder (ADF) can result in copy quality issues.
Prints that appear more green are commonly caused by an absence of magenta ink/toner being put to paper by your printer. In addition to your prints looking “greener” you may also notice yellow and blue areas appear almost neon due to the the magenta not being able to give them more realistic tones.
Using a generic or refilled ink cartridge won`t automatically void your warranty, but it`s important to note that any damage caused specifically from using a non-HP ink product won`t be covered by the warranty for your HP printer.
Disable the Cartridge Policy feature
In the Device Management pane, select the printers (or printer group) to configure. In the bottom navigation pane, select Config, and then select Supplies. In the Cartridge Policy section, select Off. Click Apply.
Printers that use two cartridges (one black, one tri-color) can print if one cartridge is empty. To continue printing, remove the empty cartridge from the printer. If a Single-cartridge mode message displays, select OK. If you are using the black cartridge, prints are in black and white (grayscale).
You can visually inspect the remaining cartridge levels on your printer. If they are full but you still cannot print properly, check the cartridge`s expiry date. Expired ink cartridges often dry up which causes problems in the print results.
The ink levels may be low and you may need to refill the ink. Visually check the ink levels. Also make sure you filled the tanks with the correct colors of ink. After you print, the colors in your printout need time to set as the ink dries.

HP deskjet 460 Waste ink tank full
ANSWER : I worked fixing printers for 5 years for Verizon and some of the older printers were notorious for the waste receptacle filling and overflowing with ink. My solution was good old warm water. Remove the waste container and scoop out as much as you can with a small screwdriver, wiping the discard on a paper towel, then just run warm water from the faucet into the container till all the residue is removed. This is just water soluble ink folks, if you want to test it, scoop out a glob and dissolve it in warm water, its easy as pie. I never once bought a new ink discard reservoir. I just cleaned out my mobile 460 printer reservoir by the same method. There are no electrical connections its just all plastic.

Black ink in HP G55 casing
ANSWER : Hope someone can help me with a HP Officejet G55 “problem”. I took my G55 apart and cleaned the service station as explained here on this site as it was obviously full of ink “goo” and the printer had refused to print in the middle of a printing, displaying a remove black cartridge etc message even though the HP45 cartridge itself showed it was not even half empty. I had no major problems with the cleaning procedure, but after putting it back together there was “the problem”! The Carriage with the ink cartridges gets stuck just before its about to enter its “home base” over the service station and I get a “fix carriage jam and then push enter” on the screen. I can see and hear that it is the service station that gets stuck just before the “cycle run” of the carriage is about to end. You can hear the service station motor gear slip on the plastic gear mechanism of the service station, not being able to move it any further but tries for a moment with a grinding noise and then stops. Is there some sort of time alignment I need to do between the carriage, service station mechanism and service station motor? Like service station pushed to the back, carriage to the far left etc etc. Ive tried a few “scenarios” but the carriage allways gets stuck in the same place with the grinding noise from the service station/motor “gears”! If I move the carriage by hand it goes from the far right to the far left without any problem. Its just when the service station/motor etc is engaged, that this happens. Hope someone can help me with this problem. Thank you.
