How to Identify and Fix Common Problems ?

You can visually inspect the remaining cartridge levels on your printer. If they are full but you still cannot print properly, check the cartridge`s expiry date. Expired ink cartridges often dry up which causes problems in the print results.
First, check your printer settings on the file or picture your trying to print. If your page is setup to print in “grayscale” it will only print in black and white. Change the setting to “default” so it will print in color. If your settings look good from the start, the cartridge may just need to be primed.
Reasons why your HP printer has ink but won`t print

This may seem obvious, but it sometimes happens: first make sure your paper tray has paper in it. Misalignment, clogged printheads, faulty data communication or insufficient ink levels can also be sources of the problem.

Here are the most common causes of a printer printing faded text or images: Low ink or toner levels. Toner sticking to the fuser roller or problems with the transfer roller. Low ink or toner density settings.
A common cause of faded, faint printouts from your inkjet printer is dried ink particles causing a blockage in your printer. The printheads on an ink cartridge can be become blocked if the printer is not used for a period of time, so it is recommended to print a few pages each month to maintain the print quality.
If your PC or the LCD screen on your printer is telling you that your ink cartridges are full but no ink is passing through to the paper, then it`s most likely that you are dealing with a clogged printhead. Blurry documents and images that appear faded are also signs that it`s time to remove the excess ink.
Using an isopropyl alcohol dampened lint-free moist cloth, gently blot the nozzle plate until some ink is drawn out and absorbed into the cloth. Ensure rear electrical (gold) contacts are thoroughly clean of all ink residue and lint fibers. Ensure cartridge is dry before re-installing into printer.
Just above the circuit board on most printer cartridges, you`ll find a small button. You`ve seen these tiny buttons before on cell phones, phone chargers, etc. This is your reset button, and the only way to get in there is either with a paper clip or the tip of a pen (which will leave a tiny ink smudge on the button).
If one or more of the ink colors are missing from your printed documents (i.e. received faxes, copies and/or documents printed from the PC), the ink cartridge(s) may not be installed correctly or nozzles in the print head may be clogged.
Otherwise use a printer head cleaning solution recipe of 50% water and 50% rubbing alcohol. We also like a homemade printhead cleaning solution that is 8-parts Windex to 2-parts rubbing alcohol. This printer head cleaning fluid works like a charm and it`s cheap to make!
In the majority of cases, printers` self-cleaning mechanisms clean blocked printer heads by flushing the nozzles with air. The air works to dislodge dry ink inside the cartridge channels and also push it out. The intensity of the self-cleaning process of printers is usually not very strong.
Take a cotton towel or rag and dampen it with rubbing alcohol. Blot the ink from the outside inward once again to loosen the ink particles from the fibers in your carpet. If this isn`t breaking up the stain, try using hydrogen peroxide.
The printhead could be clogged, and you might need to clean the printhead several times to restore print quality. Use an automated tool from the printer control panel to clean the printhead. On the printer control panel, swipe down to open the Dashboard, and then touch the Setup icon .
Trick the printer.

Remove the cartridge, wipe it with a lint-free cloth and reinsert it. This process can fool your printer into “thinking” you`ve put in a new cartridge and may help it eke out a few more pages.

There are chips inside the original cartridges to record how many pages were printed and they cannot be reset. As a result the printer reads the chips and tells you that the cartridges are empty, even though they are not. This is why you are getting the “ink low” message even though the ink tank is at full capacity.
Several factors may cause the product to print blank pages, such as print settings, low ink, or the product itself. Check the following: Make sure the product is placed on a flat, stable surface that extends beyond the base in all directions. The product won`t operate properly if it`s tilted or at an angle.
Poor quality printing can occur when a printer is kept in a hot, humid area. Try to keep your printer in a cool environment, away from other devices that may produce excessive heat, and from windows where heat and humidity can be high.
At the Windows Manage your device screen, click Printer properties. Click Preferences. From the Color Mode dropdown, choose either Color or Black and White. Click OK to save.
Some brands have a button on the printer that you can press to activate the self-cleaning mechanism, while others have the command available in the software. In the latter case, you`ll have to open the `properties` tab of the specific printer from the `printers` section of the `control panel`.
Missing colours, streaky prints, smudges and ink blotches are all signs that your printer ink or toner cartridge may be damaged. Some printers will actually warn you if a cartridge is damaged and will refuse to print. This includes HP ink cartridges, Samsung toner cartridges and Canon ink cartridges.
Automatic print head cleaning

The cleaning function is included in the software of almost every printer. Usually, you can find it under the “printer maintenance” section of your printer`s display menu. Automatic print head cleaning usually takes only one or two minutes, so you won`t need to wait for too long.

HP Deskjet printers have a built-in process that cleans dried ink from inside the cartridges, which may eliminate missing lines or dots on your printouts. If you notice ink streaks after printing, you`ll need to manually clean the cartridges to remove any external debris.

incompatible ink cartridge message
ANSWER : Pretty much nothing else you can do except try another new cartridge. I had 2 identical HP printers once in the shop. One of them didn’t like one of the cartridges. I swapped it over with the other printers cartridge and it was happy. So was the other printer. Swapped the cartridges back and it didn’t like it again. How do you explain that? You don’t.
