How to Identify and Fix Common Problems ?

Look for the contact points on the print carriage inside the printer and gently wipe them off using a lint-free cloth. Make sure there isn`t any ink left on the printer contacts. Just as on the ink cartridges, if you are having difficulty removing the excess ink, use a cotton swab and mineral water until it is clean.
Wipe the screen gently with a soft, dry cloth. If any marks remain, moisten the cloth with LCD cleaner, and then gently stroke the cloth across the display in one direction, moving from top to bottom. If you are cleaning the screen of a notebook PC, be sure the LCD screen is dry before closing it or using the computer.
Remove Fingerprints from Window Glass

To begin, grab your favorite bottle of window cleaner or make your own concoction with equal parts water and distilled white vinegar plus three drops of liquid dish soap. Spray the window with your preferred cleaner. Wipe it immediately with a microfiber cloth.

You`ll need a small squirt of a mix of dish soap with 1 gallon of tap water. Don`t be surprised if the mixture is slightly soapy. You`ll need soap because it is designed to cut through grease and oils. Gently apply your cleaner to the glass surface using a cloth.
Mix together 1 tablespoon of salt with vinegar in a small bowl to make a paste. Rub the paste onto the inside of the vase using a sponge, bottle brush, or old toothbrush. Let it sit for 10 minutes before rinsing the paste off using warm water. Use a microfiber cloth to dry.
In office copiers and scanners, the platen is a flat glass surface on which operators place papers or books for scanning. The platen is also called the flatbed.
Cleaning Internal Components

Caked-on dust or dirt can be rubbed away with isopropyl alcohol using either a cloth or a Q-tip for hard-to-reach places. You should never take apart the hard drive or the power supply, not even to clean them.

Some surfaces, like glass or metal, receive and hold prints well, whereas some types of plastics may receive a print well, but the detail will diffuse only after a day or two.
On a smooth surface such as glass or metal, fingerprints tend to stick very well. With your unwashed hands, you should have been able to make your fingerprint visible with either cacao or baby powder. Just a little powder applied with a brush should be enough to reveal your fingerprint.
ADF Flatbed Scanner

The most versatile type of scanner where the flatbed plane of glass can be used to scan bulky items such as books or other items not fit to be fed through an ADF. The scanning head moves along the underside of the glass to capture the image.

Frit Printing on Glass

Frit printing is similar to screen printing with the exception of the ink utilized and the curing process. A unique powdered-glass ink is screen printed onto the glass and cured during the heat tempering process.

There are two methods for digital printing on glass: UV-curable printing, and digital ceramic printing. Digital UV printing technology uses organic inks and employs ultraviolet light to cure (dry) the ink on the glass surface. The technology enables unlimited color combinations.
For cleaning, HP recommends using HP Equipment Cleaning Wipes, but you can use an HP-approved lint-free wipe and deionized or distilled water. Note: If dark spots appear on back side of prints, clean drum screen. Note: If minilab prints more than 2000 prints each day, clean drum screen up to twice daily.
Flatbed scanners have a broad glass scanning surface that helps to keep documents flat. Accidents can crack or shatter the glass, but leave the scanner otherwise usable. Replace the broken scanner glass yourself to save your business the cost of purchasing new equipment.
