Select the product, and then click the Properties or Preferences button. Click the Paper/Quality tab, and then locate the Quality Settings area. If the entire page is too dark, select the EconoMode setting. If the entire page is too light, make sure you are using the correct setting for the print job.
Check you have the latest drivers installed for your printer, try uninstalling and reinstalling your printer drivers or try changing the driver settings (adjusting the paper settings has been known to solve the problem). Fully Reconfigure the Printer – If all else fails, you can try entirely reconfiguring your printer.
It has been determined that the cause of this issue is due to a possible bug in Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader DC (not from the Canon print driver or Device itself). In order to resolve this issue when printing PDF documents you need to switch on an option called “Print as Image”within you Adobe software.
Check the ink levels
Sometimes, the printer may not print black ink because it is low or empty. You can check the ink levels on the printer`s display, or by using the software that came with your printer. If the ink level is low, replace the cartridge or refill it according to the manufacturer`s instructions.
1. Prints appear too dark. The main reason this occurs is because the brightness level on the computer monitor is too high. It`s common with newer monitors, many of which are designed for gaming and have their brightness levels set higher by default.
Your printer not printing dark enough can be a symptom of incorrect printer settings, a defective printer component, or a defective toner cartridge.
If your PC or the LCD screen on your printer is telling you that your ink cartridges are full but no ink is passing through to the paper, then it`s most likely that you are dealing with a clogged printhead. Blurry documents and images that appear faded are also signs that it`s time to remove the excess ink.

If your printer is spitting out pages full of strange characters, symbols, or strange formatting, your inkjet printer drivers may be outdated, incompatible with your operating system or corrupt. Drivers are important to the proper function of your inkjet printer and it is best to check for updates regularly.
When color ink is expended and black ink still remains, you can continue printing for a short time using only black ink. However, you should replace the expended ink cartridge(s) as soon as possible. See the following section to continue printing temporarily with black ink.
Clean the printheads: Sometimes the issue why you are unable to print in color is because our printheads are clogged with ink. Clean the printheads and then print a document to check if color printing works. Some printers also have in-built programs that can clean themselves so remember to check for that.
Printers that use two cartridges (one black, one tri-color) can print if one cartridge is empty. To continue printing, remove the empty cartridge from the printer. If a Single-cartridge mode message displays, select OK. If you are using the black cartridge, prints are in black and white (grayscale).
Make sure the Black/Grayscale or Grayscale setting is not selected in your printer software. Run a nozzle check to see if any of the print head nozzles are clogged. Then clean the print head, if necessary. The ink cartridges may be old or low on ink, and you may need to replace them.
This means the printer is starved of the data it needs to keep printing. Some printers will pause and keep trying, for a little while, but many will just give up at this point and spit out your half printed page. So – the moral of the story is really to always use a wired connection if at all possible.

If you continuously print plain text documents in grayscale instead of monochrome, you will run out of expensive color cartridges more quickly. Monochrome printing only requires a small amount of black ink, while grayscale printing mixes black and color ink or toner to make up different shades of gray.

This error message is usually the result of a cartridge that is not firmly seated in its designated slot. To troubleshoot the problem, begin by completely removing the cartridge from its port. Reinstall the cartridge by positioning it so that it snaps into place and is securely fastened in its slot.
To underprint, or print white on black paper, you simply swap the traditional position of the white toner cartridge in the printer with the cyan cartridge by moving it to the last slot. There`s no flushing the lines or any of that – you literally just pick up the first and last cartridges and move their positions.

ANSWER : Try this test. Put a page into the manual feeder and do that same test. When the end of the page is just about to enter the printer, open the lid. Take out the toner cartridge and pull back the shutter. Look at the image and see if it is black. The explanation is that there is high voltage going to both the toner cartridge and the charge transfer roller below it. If the image on the drum is black, then the fault is at the transfer roller not getting enough high voltage. The transfer roller pulls the image off of the drum and down onto the paper. It would not be a laser scanner problem as any issue with it would not result in an overall gray image, but combination of gray and black. It will probably turn out to be a bad HV power supply, which will need replacement. I’ve never seen this particular problem on this model.

Prints blank pages, won't print from computer
ANSWER : Don’t know why you replaced the fuser, but assuming you had print before, then it must have been something you did during the procedure. Only thing I can suggest is to recheck your work. Just because you reinstalled a connector doesn’t mean that it is seated firmly enough to work. Any flat ribbon connectors that you removed and reinstalled, check to see that the contacts are all flat and not peeled back.

HP DeskJet 1220C Prints only Pink & Black
ANSWER : hi everyone. i have an hp ink advantage 5525 all-in-one. changed all cartridges as they were empty and when i tried to print i got blank pages. i gave a print order a couple times to find out what was going on and found out that yellow and magenta inks worked but not cyan and black. removed cartridges, clean and all many times and nothing happened. then i tried this youtu.be/f57jOGj-G5s and the print quality of magenta and yellow improved significantly but still no black or cyan at all. i can’t do the running water thing because the print head is not detachable. any suggestions?

Black line printing in the middle of the page from top to bottom
ANSWER : Take out the toner cartridge and look at the drum. If you see the line, replace the cartridge. If you don’t, then you need to replace the fuser assembly.

ANSWER : What about the engine test? To do that, drop down the front tray. Feel around on the left side at the top and you’ll feel a little plastic dongle. If you lift up on that it will initiate an engine test page. That will be a page containing lines of each color.
