A maintenance kit is a set of replacement parts for a printer. Each printer has a preset maintenance interval, which occurs after a certain amount of pages are printed. The maintenance interval lets the user know that it`s time to install the maintenance kit so that the parts within the printer do not get overused.
If the display panel on your HP LaserJet reads “Perform Printer Maintenance”, “Perform User Maintenance”, “Maintenance Kit Low”, “Maintenance Kit Very Low”, or anything along those lines it means your printer needs a preventative maintenance kit, which includes a fuser and various rollers.
We`ll send an HP-qualified technician to your home or office to install the maintenance kit for you and give your printer a detailed cleaning. We only certify the best and most trusted technicians to install our maintenance kits, so you`ll get the high-quality service that our customers have come to expect from HP.
The biggest difference lies in the name, as they tend to include all of the same parts. A maintenance kit should include a new fuser assembly, and a fuser kit should include all the necessary maintenance parts.
The maintenance box stores ink that gets flushed from the system during print head cleaning. When an ink cartridge is expended or the maintenance box is at the end of its service life, you need to replace it.

A component found in electrostatic printers, laser printers, and xerographic printers and photocopiers. The fuser unit is used to permanently bond toner to a substrate by applying heat and pressure. A fuser unit is made up of two rollers; one to apply heat and one to apply pressure.
The maintenance box stores surplus ink that gets collected during printing or print head cleaning. When you see a message on the LCD screen, follow the on-screen instructions to replace the maintenance box. Note: When the maintenance box is full, you cannot print or clean the print head until it is replaced.
Do not reuse a maintenance box that has been removed and left uninstalled for more than a week. Keep the maintenance box away from direct sunlight. Note: You cannot print or clean the print head while the maintenance box is full, but you can perform tasks that do not require ink, such as scanning.
A printer should be cleaned inside out and covered after use. It has delicate parts that get coated with dust. At regular intervals clean it from inside to avoid accumulation of dust and grime. Use a lint-free cloth or moistened cotton swab for cleaning.
The message “Fuser Kit Low” or “Fuser Kit Very Low” on your HP Color LaserJet M553 series printer is a warning that you have reached the recommended number of prints for your fuser assembly. (The fuser assembly is the consumable part in your printer which heats up and bonds toner to the paper.
The fuser unit is a vital component of laser printers. Most fusers last between 50,000 and 200,000 pages, depending on the design. Smaller cheap printers tend to have short fuser lives, while fusers used in larger office printers tend to be long-lasting and easily replaced.
