How to Identify and Fix Common Problems ?

Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced technical support :

Here are the most common causes of a printer printing faded text or images: Low ink or toner levels. Toner sticking to the fuser roller or problems with the transfer roller. Low ink or toner density settings.
Check the toner darkness settings.

Sometimes light print can be remedied by simply changing the toner darkness setting in the printer. To change the setting, go to MENU>>SETTINGS>>QUALITY MENU>>TONER DARKNESS. Increase the darkness and send a test print to see if that fixes the issue.

Step 4: Exposing

Every area of the drum exposed to the laser has its surface charge reduced to about 100 volts DC. An invisible latent print is generated as the printer`s drum turns. The image that will ultimately be printed exists for the first time as a thin layer of electrons on the OPC drum.

The most common reason for getting faded prints is having empty or defective toner cartridges. It is unbelievably frequent that people forget to replace their empty toner cartridges and struggle to figure out why their printers print faintly. Another common reason is that people use defective cartridges.
Check the ink levels

Sometimes, the printer may not print black ink because it is low or empty. You can check the ink levels on the printer`s display, or by using the software that came with your printer. If the ink level is low, replace the cartridge or refill it according to the manufacturer`s instructions.

Inkjet printers work via subtractive color mixing. As different colors of ink are combined, each ink absorbs (subtracts) its characteristic colors and amounts of light. The light that is then reflected back to our eyes is what we see as different colors.
Ultraviolet (UV) printing uses a different type of ink than conventional print methods. Instead of liquid ink, UV printing uses a dual-state substance which stays in liquid form until it`s exposed to UV light.
4/1: This means full color on the front and black and white on the back of a document. 4/4: This is known as “four over four.” It means that there are four ink colors applied to the back and front of a document. The four colors include: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and BlacK (a.k.a. CMYK).
4/0 and 4/4 are common printing terminology terms and basically means single or double sided printing. 4/0 refers to printing 4 colors on one side of the paper and 0 colors on the other side of the paper. 4/4 means 4 colors printed on both sides of the paper.
In UV printing, mercury/quartz or LED lights are used for curing instead of heat; the specially designed high-intensity UV light closely follows as the special ink is distributed on the printing medium, drying it as soon as it is applied.
Usually a quick paper setting adjustment will clear up a ghosting issue right away. Run a cleaning – Most printers have a cleaning function built into the machine. Run this a couple of times to attempt to clear up the printing issue. Inspect the drum – Sometimes excess toner powder can stick to the drum.
Print density is the measurement of light reflected off of the substrate, or how dark the print appears after each press strike. When looking at the definition of print density it is easy to see how the materials that come in direct contact with the printing surface play a crucial role in print density quality.
Reasons why your HP printer has ink but won`t print

This may seem obvious, but it sometimes happens: first make sure your paper tray has paper in it. Misalignment, clogged printheads, faulty data communication or insufficient ink levels can also be sources of the problem.

You can visually inspect the remaining cartridge levels on your printer. If they are full but you still cannot print properly, check the cartridge`s expiry date. Expired ink cartridges often dry up which causes problems in the print results.
Printer Faults – Faded One Side of a Print. Fading at a margin generally suggests: an imbalance of the toner, all of it is unshiftably at one side of a cartridge. The toner agitators or stirrers should move the problem but don`t invariably succeed.

Print file sent but no printing occurs
ANSWER : Been working on these since they first were released. Never seen a problem like yours. If it happens again, try doing an engine test, as it bypasses the formatter board. The engine test is located at the right side of the manual tray opening. Look for a hole in the side wall. Stick something like a paper clip into it to actuate the test button. It will then print a lined test page. If it does that, then it points to the formatter board as the cause of your problem.

Left side light printing
ANSWER : A possibility could be the Charge Transfer Roller mount on the left side broke and it’s not lifting up to push the paper up to the cartridge drum. Take the cartridge out and push down on each end and see if they respond in the same way.
