Dust, paper fiber, and other debris might accumulate on the paper feed rollers and cause paper jams and paper feed issues. Clean the rollers inside the printer, and then try to print again.
Smears and smudges on the paper can be caused by dirt, dust, or toner accumulated on the rollers or transfer belt as it passes through the paper. Cleaning your printer, particularly the rollers, is one of the options for removing black markings from paper.
Dirty printer rollers. If your paper jams are happening randomly and you can`t identify the cause, it could be that your printer rollers are dirty. Over time, dust and debris can build up on the rollers and cause the rollers to grab onto paper unevenly, which can lead to paper jams.
this can happen if a small piece of paper is stuck in the paper path or if the rollers have become covered with lacquer from the paper, try cleaning the pickup rollers and the paper path, with a slightly damp cloth (not wet).
Most common culprits for a clogged printhead are microscopic dust particles, air bubbles or dried ink. Running a printhead cleaning on your machine will clear the print nozzles of excess or dried up ink.
Streaks and unwanted lines could mean that the printer heads are out of alignment. There`s an alignment tool in the printer`s control panel. If that`s not the issue then the printer is dirty. Printer ink stripes may appear along the edges of the paper, which means there`s ink on the rollers and other parts.
Click on Control Panel. Select and open the Devices and Printers option. Right click on the Default Printer, and select Printing Preferences. Look for the Paper Size option.
Set the print quality setting to higher quality. If you have an HP printer, you want to select HP PHOTO paper for your paper type, when printing on glossy paper. Adjusting your print settings paper type to glossy to match the paper you are printing on typically resolves the ink smearing issue for most people.
Sticker paper might have an odd surface (weird / glossy). The surface of the stickers might “catch” on the rollers. The backing on Sticker paper might be odd thin paper or might be similar to regular paper. Some printers do not handle “odd thin paper” backing.
If your printer has a paper path cover behind the carriage, remove the cover, and then remove any jammed paper. Pull out the input tray, and then remove any jammed paper. If your printer has a bottom cleanout door, carefully lift the printer and look under it, and then remove any jammed paper from the bottom cleanout.
