HP 2410- How to open scanner assembly for cleaning

Turn off the scanner and unplug the AC adapter. Wipe off any dust or dirt on the glass scanning surfaces using a soft, dry cloth. If the glass surface is stained with grease or some other hard-to-remove material, use a small amount of glass cleaner on a soft cloth to remove it. Wipe off all remaining liquid.

Step 1: Unplug the power cord from the scanner. Step 2: Using a soft, lint-free cloth, like a microfiber cloth, wipe off the dust from the scanner glass. Step 3: If the glass has smudges or other contaminants, use a little bit of glass cleaner on a microfiber cloth and wipe the glass.

Pull up the ADF release tab to open the ADF.

When the imprinter is installed, open the print section of the imprinter first, then the ADF. When the ADF is open, it might close accidentally. Be careful not to get your fingers caught.

Never use alcohol, thinner, or corrosive solvent to clean the scanner. These chemicals can damage the scanner components as well as the case.

Turn the product on while you press and hold the Resume button for 10-20 seconds. The Attention light turns on. Release the Resume button. The Attention and Ready lights cycle while the product restores factory defaults.

Lift the scanner assembly away from the printer. If you need to detach the display, lay the scanner assembly upside down, lower the display assembly, push it to the right, and then adjust the angle of the display until it drops away from the scanner.

Don`t use paper towels because they can leave dust on the glass. Don`t use compressed air because it can force dust under the glass, which will need removal by a professional cleaner.
