Error light is on
ANSWER : Assuming it is the triangle shaped error light, it can mean the tray is empty, a door is open or there is a paper jam. Did you check thoroughly for a jam? I’ve opened them up and there was a paper stuck below the cartridge in plain sight. Happened more than a few times. That’s why I ask. Also remove the tray and look up into where the slot for the paper to feed into the printer is. Often, there is a paper stuck in there. Lastly, open the back and look carefully for any scraps of paper. People often neglect to mention there was a paper jam and they ripped it out and it didn’t come out in one piece. I guess that’s not important enough to convey to someone trying to fix it.
