Make sure that the printer is turned on. Press and hold the Stop button until the Alarm lamp flashes 21 times. Release the Stop button. All the printer settings are initialized.
With the printer powered on, select Setup . Select Device settings . Scroll to the bottom of the menu list and select Reset settings.
You have two options to factory reset Canon printers. One method is to use the Reset button, while the other is to utilize the Setup option.
Restoring the factory-set defaults returns most of the settings to the factory defaults. It will not reset the page count, tray size, or language.
Initialize the printer settings. Select Device settings > Reset settings > Reset all in the setup menu and then select Yes, restore to default administrator password. After initializing the printer settings, redo setup.
The default user name for the administrator is “Administrator” and the default password is “7654321”. When you are going to operate the machine as “Administrator,” change the current password to improve the security.
Press and hold Stop button and release it when Alarm lamp flashes 19 times. The network settings are initialized.
Disconnect the printer cable from the printer, turn the printer off, and then unplug the printer from the power supply. Plug the printer back in and turn the printer back on. If the problem is not resolved, contact your Canon service representative.
Restart your computer – this often will recover any lost connections with wireless devices. Power off and on the printer, and even the access point or wireless router your printer connects to. Check your printer configuration – you may not be assigned to the correct port for the printer.
Seven Flashes: FINE Cartridge is not installed in the correct position. Make sure that each FINE Cartridge is installed in the correct position. When FINE Cartridges run out of ink, follow the procedure below to replace them.

Best way to clean the heads is to run hot tap water into the screens and then flip it over and run the hot water on the heads. Repeat a few times until the water runs clear. Then dry it thoroughly with a paper towel and reinstall.
