Your Epson printer may have failed to recognize the new ink cartridge, or its ink level system has read it as empty. For numerous Epson printer models, there`s a way to bypass this built-in ink checking system through a quick cartridge reset. Raise the printer`s top cover and then hold the Ink button.
The Cause of Clogs
Printheads clog because nozzles get blocked by either air or ink. Clogs usually happen when: You keep printing with depleted ink cartridges. Using empty ink cartridges can result in air bubbles that can clog your cartridge and/or printhead.

How do you remove ink after it has dried? Put down a towel you don`t mind getting stained, and place the stained garment on top of it. Treat the stain with rubbing alcohol or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer or hair spray and let sit for at least 10 minutes before blotting and rinsing with cold water.
Missing colours, streaky prints, smudges and ink blotches are all signs that your printer ink or toner cartridge may be damaged. Some printers will actually warn you if a cartridge is damaged and will refuse to print. This includes HP ink cartridges, Samsung toner cartridges and Canon ink cartridges.
If your PC or the LCD screen on your printer is telling you that your ink cartridges are full but no ink is passing through to the paper, then it`s most likely that you are dealing with a clogged printhead. Blurry documents and images that appear faded are also signs that it`s time to remove the excess ink.
Apply
acetone with a cotton ball to smudge the ink.
Acetone, also sold as fingernail polish remover, can be applied with a cotton ball to dissolve some of the ink into a liquid again.
To remove ink from paper with acetone, add a small amount of acetone to a cotton swab and gently rub the ink spot. To prevent the ink from transferring to the next page, place a tissue under the page and carefully apply the acetone.
Isopropyl alcohol isn`t strong enough to melt the sponge but is still strong enough to dissolve the ink inside the blocked printer head.
Vinegar is a natural stain remover that can serve as a gentler alternative to harsh chemicals for treating your favorite sweaters, cardigans or slacks. To remove ink with vinegar, try soaking the stained area in a mixture of vinegar and water before thoroughly rinsing and washing the item as usual.
Water can permanently damage vapes and other electronic devices in two ways. The impurities in the water can conduct electricity, potentially causing a short circuit to occur. Pure water actually isn`t a good conductor, but almost all water has impurities such as dissolved minerals.
Chances are you suspect a faulty ink cartridge due to your print quality declining. Streaks, smears and stripes on your printout are all signs of a bad cartridge, as is a lack of a particular color or a color appearing very faint. Sometimes the printer refuses to print if a cartridge is faulty.
Most commonly “Cartridge Problem” means that your HP printer simply cannot recognise the colour or black ink cartridges. Thankfully however this error message can usually be cleared with some basic troubleshooting.
To find out which ink cartridge is empty, check EPSON Status Monitor 3 (for Windows) or EPSON StatusMonitor (for Macintosh). You can also tell which cartridge is empty by checking the speed at which the error light flashes when the print head moves to the ink cartridge replacement position.
Place the new chip over the two plastic tabs used to secure the chip onto the cartridge. Gently press down until the chip properly falls into place under the tabs. You can either use your index finger to do this or a pair of tweezers.
The printer will not operate if a black ink cartridge is expended or any cartridge is removed. If a color cartridge is expended, you may be able to continue printing temporarily with black ink. It`s best to always have extra cartridges on hand.
The Power Cleaning utility allows you to replace all of the ink inside the ink tubes. In the following situations, you may need to use this feature to improve the print quality. You printed or performed head cleaning when the ink levels were too low to be seen in the ink tank windows.
The nozzle check function allows you to check whether the print head is working properly by printing a nozzle check pattern. Print the pattern if printing becomes faint, or if a specific color fails to print.
1. On the printer display home screen, select the “set up” button (it looks like a gear). 2. Select “settings” > “device settings” > “reset settings” > “reset all” > “OK” and then “Yes.”
Reset. Resetting the printer stops printing and clears the current print job received from the active interface. You may want to reset the printer when there is a problem with the print job itself and the printer cannot print successfully.
The Print Spooler is software built into the Windows operating system that temporarily stores print jobs in the computer`s memory until the printer is ready to print them. In some circumstances you may need to stop and/or restart the service.
Soak the Printhead
Fill a bowl with warm water (or a mixture of water and vinegar to clean the printhead) and place the printhead directly in it. Let it sit for five minutes or so. Pull the printhead out of the water and use a lint-free cloth or paper towel to remove the dried ink.
You can also remove an ink stain from your favourite shirt using white vinegar and cornstarch. Begin the cleaning process by first dampening the ink stain with white vinegar. In a separate bowl, mix 2 parts white vinegar and 3 parts cornstarch to make a paste.
Ink stains can be removed using Oxalic acid C 2 H 2 O 4 .
