How to Identify and Fix Common Problems ?

Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced technical support :

Right-click on the desired file in the print queue and select “Cancel” to delete it from the queue. If part of the file has already been printed, the job will stop in the middle of printing. If you wish, you can also use this method to delete all jobs in the print queue.
Touch or click Devices and Printers (Control panel). Touch and hold or right-click your printer`s icon. Touch or click See What`s Printing. Touch or click Cancel All Documents.
Hold down the command key on your keyboard and press the period (.) key to cancel the print job.
Often, simply clearing and restarting the print spooler—the software that prepares and manages printing documents—can fix the problem. If that fails, you may need to cancel one or more documents in your print queue and see if that gets things going again.
You can use the qcan command to cancel a print job. For local print jobs, the printer must be physically attached to your system or, in the case of a network printer, attached and configured on the network.
Some uses of the SP-KILL command should be limited to the administrator. Use SP-KILL to stop a current print job from printing or to turn print files into hold files.

Canon Pixma MP610 won't print in black
ANSWER : Printer cleanings use wet ink to clear dried up ink. Yeah, that works real well. The best way to clean the heads is remove all the ink tanks. Next to the tanks on the right, there is a plastic release lever. Pull up on it and it will release the heads. Reach in and pull them out. Take the heads over to the sink and run hot tap water into the screen for the black and then turn it over and run it over the heads on the bottom. Repeat a few times and reinstall.
