How to Identify and Fix Common Problems ?

First, check your printer settings on the file or picture your trying to print. If your page is setup to print in “grayscale” it will only print in black and white. Change the setting to “default” so it will print in color. If your settings look good from the start, the cartridge may just need to be primed.
Stop sharing your printer with other users on the network.
Fortunately, it`s easy to disable printer sharing in your settings. Windows: In the Control Panel, click Network and Internet and then Network and Sharing Center. Click Change advanced sharing settings and then choose Turn off file and printer sharing.
Go to your computer and click “Print” from the file that you wanted to print. Click on “Properties” and then the “Color” tab next. Select the “Print in grayscale” option by clicking on its checkbox. You can now start printing in black and white.
How to Switch to the “Color Only” Setting. Not all printer models will have this option in their settings menu, but it is worth a look. If you are out of black ink and only want to print with the color cartridges, see if your printer has a “color only” setting.
Kindly go to Start > Settings > Update and Security > Troubleshoot > Printer > select Run Troubleshooter. You may also check the print settings to ensure that the option for black and white/grayscale is not selected.
Windows 11 not printing in color might happen if your printer driver is outdated or corrupted. In this case, you need to install the latest printer driver. There are three ways and you can choose the one you prefer to have a try: Update your printer driver via Device Manager.
Usually a quick paper setting adjustment will clear up a ghosting issue right away. Run a cleaning – Most printers have a cleaning function built into the machine. Run this a couple of times to attempt to clear up the printing issue. Inspect the drum – Sometimes excess toner powder can stick to the drum.
Ghost prints happen when the drum or fuser unit within your printer become faulty. Because a fault with this element won`t heat the particles of the toner to a high enough temperature, the marks being made on the paper are much lighter in colour and appear more faded than typical documents.
CMYK color mode is used for printing.
Click on the Start Menu, select Printers and Faxes. Right Click on the printer icon, select Printing Preferences. The Printing Preferences dialogue opens.
Trick the printer.
Low ink doesn`t mean no ink. Remove the cartridge, wipe it with a lint-free cloth and reinsert it. This process can fool your printer into “thinking” you`ve put in a new cartridge and may help it eke out a few more pages.
Check you have the latest drivers installed for your printer, try uninstalling and reinstalling your printer drivers or try changing the driver settings (adjusting the paper settings has been known to solve the problem). Fully Reconfigure the Printer – If all else fails, you can try entirely reconfiguring your printer.

My 2550n Color LaserJet does not want to print in color
ANSWER : That model had issues with the carousel solenoid sticking. That might explain why it works after you let it sit for 10 minutes. The solenoid gets hotter with use which causes the deteriorated foam on it to become sticky and hold down the release plate instead of letting it go. This allows the carousel to spin when it is supposed to stop for each color. The solenoid is located on the right side of the printer. If you open the lid, it is just behind the opening at the top right. You need to remove the top of the printer and scrape off the goo on top of the solenoid body. I put a piece of thin sticky backed felt to replace it. Other people use electrical tape.
