How to Identify and Fix Common Problems ?

There are four primary causes for horizontal banding on prints from inkjet printers, (1) nozzle clogs, (2) mis-aligned print heads, (3) low quality print settings (4) incorrect paper thickness settings. Below we will describe each of these causes for horizontal banding as well as ways to try and fix them.
If your laser printer is causing horizontal black lines you either have a problem with the optics or the drum. Cleaning the optics and replacing the drum should fix the problem in most cases.
Streaks and unwanted lines could mean that the printer heads are out of alignment. There`s an alignment tool in the printer`s control panel. If that`s not the issue then the printer is dirty. Printer ink stripes may appear along the edges of the paper, which means there`s ink on the rollers and other parts.
If you are taking a photo where there is a bright light source, such as sunlight or a street lamp, this can result in a straight light line appearing on the photo if you take it from an angle resulting in lens flare. This is often exacerbated where the lens is smudged or dirty.
The band-shaped “stripes” are called “horizontal bands” or “banding.” Horizontal bands are caused by the subtle changes in the movement distance that occur when feeding the media depending on the media`s thickness. We recommend making corrections to match the media you are using.
Faulty and loose connections are the most common cause of horizontal lines on a TV. If you recently moved your TV, you might not have properly connected the cables. This is especially true if you`re using HDMI cables. Loose cables can easily slip out of their ports.
These types of lines are typically caused by dirt or white out (correction fluid) on the scanner unit, or one of the corona wires for printing is dirty. This problem is usually resolved by cleaning the scanner glass, scanner glass strip and white plastic bar with a soft lint-free cloth, or cleaning the corona wires.
A horizontal line is a straight line that goes from left to right or right to left. In coordinate geometry, a line is said to be horizontal if two points on the line have the same Y- coordinate points. It comes from the term “horizon”. It means that the horizontal lines are always parallel to the horizon or the x-axis.
The streaks or lines might be caused due to low ink levels in one or both ink cartridges. Check the ink levels using the HP Toolbox to determine if the ink cartridges are low on ink and need to be replaced. note: Ink level warnings and indicators provide estimates for planning purposes only.
If you notice white or dark lines in your prints (also called banding), try these solutions before you reprint: Run a nozzle check to see if any of the print head nozzles are clogged. Then clean the print head, if necessary. Make sure the paper type setting matches the type of paper you loaded.
Change Your Camera Position
Light reflects off a flat surface at the same angle that it strikes the surface. If you move your camera position to a different angle the reflection is no longer a problem. Moving a little to your left or right (or up or down) will often achieve the desired result.
What Is Banding? Banding is a defect in inkjet printing that will appear as horizontal or vertical lines, streaks or bands in the printed output. Everyone will eventually experience some type of banding with their inkjet printer.
Although horizontal lines can give a static look to your images, they can also produce fascinatingly extraordinary results by balancing a composition for a sense of stability and peace. Horizontal lines are an easy tool to use for improving your compositions.
First and foremost, horizontal lines are perceived as thicker than vertical ones, an effect we have called the thickness illusion. This illusion, while a normal part of type designers` everyday practice, has until now, to our knowledge, never been experimentally established.
Horizontal lines suggest a feeling of rest or repose because objects parallel to the earth are at rest. In this landscape, horizontal lines also help give a sense of space. The lines delineate sections of the landscape, which recede into space.
Ever wonder why your prints sometimes appear faded or streaky? It`s usually because the printhead inside your printer is clogged or dried out. Like with most printers, Canon printheads can clog due to ink or dust drying up and collecting in the nozzle.
Vertical lines in prints are an early warning sign of a low ink cartridge, which may show up before the printer`s low ink alerts start. You can fix the problem by replacing the low cartridge. Gently shaking the drained cartridge a bit may help to get another few prints out of it without vertical lines.
On CRT screens the horizontal scan lines are visually discernible, even when viewed from a distance, as alternating colored lines and black lines, especially when a progressive scan signal with below maximum vertical resolution is displayed. This is sometimes used today as a visual effect in computer graphics.
A horizontal line is a line extending from left to right. When you look at the sunrise over the horizon you are seeing the sunrise over a horizontal line. The x-axis is an example of a horizontal line.
The orientation of an image, design, or graphic depends on its line structure. Horizontal lines, as we know, follow the horizon, so they go straight across. Vertical lines go up and down. As this works with other elements to bring an image together, you either get a horizontal image or a vertical one.
The slope of a line can be positive, negative, zero, or undefined. A horizontal line has slope zero since it does not rise vertically (i.e. y1 − y2 = 0), while a vertical line has undefined slope since it does not run horizontally (i.e. x1 − x2 = 0).
The most obvious is most common on laser color printers and can be detected by a flashing message on the printer display screen. Other signs of a bad printer drum include printing blank pages, printing gray pages and strange sounds coming from the printer as it prints.
When horizontal banding appears or the top or bottom of the paper is smeared, load paper in the correct direction and slide the edge guides to the edges of the paper. When vertical banding appears or the paper is smeared, clean the paper path. You may need to refill the ink.
If your printouts are blurry or smeared, try these solutions: Make sure your paper is not damp, curled, old, or loaded incorrectly in your product. Use a support sheet with special paper, or load special paper one sheet at a time. Place a piece of black paper on the back of the original and copy it again.

Epson 2400 waste ink tank full?
ANSWER : The “waste tank” is actually just a foam sponge cut to fit space under the print head travel. If you’re careful you can get it out with a pair of long ! tweezers, rinse it in water and dry it. It may come out in pieces…assemble them as a template to make a new one or try to buy a new one on- line. Before putting it back in clean the whole region under the head travel as best you can with plenty of paper towels. This is a messy job, so prevention will save a lot of cleanup. Good luck.
