Any of these error codes (51.2c , 51.2m , 51.2y , 51.2k) points to a failure with one of the laser scanner assemblies on the HP Color LaserJet 4600 series. To solve this error code, replace the corresponding laser scanner.
Turn the product on while you press and hold the Resume button for 10-20 seconds. The Attention light turns on. Release the Resume button. The Attention and Ready lights cycle while the product restores factory defaults.
The 51.01 and 51.1 errors are fairly common error codes on the HP LaserJet 4100, 4100N, 4100TN, and 4100DTN series printers. This error indicates a failure with the laser scanner assembly, which is a high-failure part on these models.
Most generate an error code if a fan stops running (or even slows down). In a small printer with only one fan, this is a simple “57 SERVICE” error. In a larger printer with multiple fans, decimals (57.1, 57.2, etc.) are used to identify which fan has failed.
Right-click the printer that you want to use, and then click Printing preferences. Make your choices, and then click OK. Under option Print color select color , then the OK button. Now the printer is set to print in color.
Open Printer Properties and verify that the print driver indicates color support in the driver on the General tab. If the Color: setting in the Features section on the General tab is set to No, the driver is not configured to print in color.
The error 51.2M is a laser error on this printer. A cold reset might resolve this issue if the printer does not have a laser hardware error.
Recommended action. Turn the printer off, wait 15 seconds and turn the printer back on (using the power switch located on the back of the printer). The error code should not appear again.
When HP`s latest update occurs, the printer will not print and will display the error message, “Indicated cartridges blocked for containing a non-HP chip. Event Code: 10.00. 46.” The update will occur automatically and without warning, and once updated, the change to HP OEM cannot be reversed.
Recommended action. Turn the printer off, wait 15 seconds and turn the printer back on (using the power switch located on the back of the printer). The error code should not appear again.
Turn off the HP printer and unplug it from the power source. Also, shut down your computer and unplug any external devices. Wait for a few minutes and then plug in the printer and turn it back on. Finally, turn on your computer and check if the error state has been resolved.
The 51.2 error is a laser error. It means the laser motor didn`t get up to operating speed in time.

ANSWER : In print dialog box, try setting “Color Matching” to “Epson Color Controls”, then in “Print Settings” choose “Grayscale” instead of “Color”. I also recommend choosing “Quality” over “Speed”. This has worked for me on Mac OS.

ANSWER : I usually look for screws that might be holding it. If it doesn’t come off after removing the screws, sometimes you have to slide it to remove it. If that doesn’t work, then you get out the small, flat bladed pocket screwdriver. Use it to gently pry around the edges of the panel. Have you tried grabbing the paper clip with some needle nosed pliers? Either that or a small magnet to pull it out. Another possibility would be to hook the clip and pull it out that way.
