That would be the drum/fuser. Probably costs as much as the printer.
How to Identify and Fix Common printer Problems ?
Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced technical support :
What causes ghosting? The most likely culprit is either the imaging drum unit or the fuser unit, however humidity and the incorrect paper type can all play a role in ghosting. Ghosting is often caused by a malfunctioning imaging drum unit.
Another common cause of ghost prints is a dirty printer. Dirty nozzles, leftover toner, debris, or dust can interfere with your printer and cause ghosting. Run the printer`s built-in cleaning function multiple times, and print a test page between each. Repeat this process until the ghosting issue disappears.
Usually a quick paper setting adjustment will clear up a ghosting issue right away. Run a cleaning – Most printers have a cleaning function built into the machine. Run this a couple of times to attempt to clear up the printing issue. Inspect the drum – Sometimes excess toner powder can stick to the drum.
Ghost spots or thermal ghosting are caused by a combination of moisture, condensation, cold spots, static electricity, air currents, and a good supply of dust, soot, and other particles drifting in the air.
The only real workaround is to remap your keyboard so that the key combination you want to use is one that your keyboard is able to register. Remapping your keyboard means changing the response that each key gives. For example, you can remap your keys so that when you press the A key, your computer types a B.
People ghost for a variety of reasons. Relationship experts and psychologists agree that people who ghost are avoiding an uncomfortable situation. This evasion, while perceived as a lack of regard, is often because they feel it`s the best way to handle their own distress or inability to clearly communicate.
The most common cause of ghosting in a personal relationship is to avoid emotional discomfort in a relationship. A person ghosting typically has little acknowledgment of how it will make the other person feel.
You can lay another sheet of soaked and blotted printmaking paper on the sheer layer of remaining ink on the plate, and either run it through the press, or rub it with a spoon for a hand transfer to pull a ghost print.
Ghosting can also occur on social media. It involves cutting off all social media contact with another person without explanation. The other person may unfriend, unfollow, or even block you on all social media platforms. They may even go so far as to deactivate or delete their social accounts to prevent all contact.
If you now see inverse ghosting, it`s better to set it back. Go to Gaming -> Response Time and set it from Normal to Fast. Doesn`t this have any effect? Then set it back to Fastest.
Binocular double vision is the result of misaligned eyes. This can cause the images you see to be off, resulting in ghost images.
Ghost images, like those created by cataracts, usually are seen by only one eye. Ghost images can occur after corneal surgery, such as LASIK, PRK or a corneal transplant. Most of these problems disappear when the problem is resolved, like after cataract surgery or when the refractive surgery heals.
Here are the most common causes of a printer printing faded text or images: Low ink or toner levels. Toner sticking to the fuser roller or problems with the transfer roller. Low ink or toner density settings.

Ghosting
ANSWER : NO. Ghosting can be caused by either the toner cartridge or the fuser assembly. To determine which, you do a half-stop test. Feed the print job from the manual tray. When you see the tail end of the paper start to enter, open the door. Take out the cartridge. Look at the print. Ghosting means a bad toner cartridge. No ghosting means a bad fuser.

Print Quality Issue (Streaks and Ghosting)
ANSWER : Streaks are mostly caused by internal drum wiper blades that clean left over toner off the drum to prepare it for a new image. Ghosting is caused by a leftover image on the drum. The 6 inches that you mention would be the circumference of the part that is causing it. Fusers will never cause either problem.

Samsung CLP-300 Image Ghosting
ANSWER : Hi there – did you resolve your issue? It exactly mirrors the issue with my Samsung CLP-310. Each print carries across to the subsequent print as a ghost/smeared image and I diagnosis has revealed the transfer belt (ITB) has smeared toner remaining post each print. I was therefore considering replacing the Transfer Belt, but fear it is not the issue as you found. Whatever should be removing the toner from the Transfer Belt post print, is not, and then I get smeared ghosting on subsequent prints of the last print. The only mitigation is to print 5 blank pages post print, then the ghosting/smearing reduces to nearly zero (proving that the toner is being removed partially at least)…. Any help gratefully received.
