This error occurs due to the chip on your cartridge still reporting a low or empty ink level from it`s previous use. The chip itself cannot be reset, so when the cartridge is refilled and then installed into a new machine it will still register as empty. So, how to stop your printer reporting low ink?
Cradle (Carriage) The portion of the printer where the inkjet cartridges are installed.
If you accidentally insert your inkjet`s cartridges in the wrong color slots, most printers sense the error through circuits that check installed consumables and alert you with an on-screen message. Until you correct this type of installation mixup, your printer simply won`t operate.
Most commonly “Cartridge Problem” means that your HP printer simply cannot recognise the colour or black ink cartridges. Thankfully however this error message can usually be cleared with some basic troubleshooting.
Missing colours, streaky prints, smudges and ink blotches are all signs that your printer ink or toner cartridge may be damaged. Some printers will actually warn you if a cartridge is damaged and will refuse to print. This includes HP ink cartridges, Samsung toner cartridges and Canon ink cartridges.
Just above the circuit board on most printer cartridges, you`ll find a small button. You`ve seen these tiny buttons before on cell phones, phone chargers, etc. This is your reset button, and the only way to get in there is either with a paper clip or the tip of a pen (which will leave a tiny ink smudge on the button).
Myth 1: Perhaps the most common misunderstanding is that compatible cartridges will damage your printer. There is no evidence to support this. The truth: Compatible cartridges are designed to fit into your printer and work in exactly the same way as original cartridges, even though they may look a little different.

I swapped it over with the other printers cartridge and it was happy. So was the other printer. Swapped the cartridges back and it didn’t like it again. How do you explain that? You don’t.
