This error might display if the fuser temperature becomes too hot. Follow these steps to turn off the printer and allow the fuser to cool before printing again. Press the Power button to turn off the printer. Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
The message `Fuser Error` or `Self-Diagnostic` means either the fuser has reached the maximum temperature allowed or there has been an error in detection of the correct temperature during specific times of the printing process.

There are replacement rollers and sleeves on the market that you can replace and turn a non-functional fuser into a good working one. Rebuilding fuser assemblies is not a new thing. Copier technicians have been doing it for years since the first office copier was created.
Push up on the release buttons on both sides of the fuser to release the springs, and then pull the fuser out of the printer. Place the old fuser aside for recycling. Remove the new fuser from its box. Remove the protective packaging.

The fuser unit or fuser assembly, is a critical component of your laser printer. Using pressure and heat, it fuses the toner powder onto the page to create a print, and without out it, your printer cannot operate.
Place your old fuser kit in a safe plastic bag so that any excess toner on it doesn`t leak out and stain anything. ANSWER : I had a similar paper pickup problem on laserjet 6mp. The printer would go through start-up sequence fine but when it received a print job you could here the main gears/rollers turning but no clicking from paper pickup solenoid, then eventually error lights would come one . I incorrectly assumed it was an error with the paper pickup mechanism and wasted a whole day taking the printer apart and replacing the paper pick mechanism. Long story short, if I had bothered to figure out the secondary error light codes from the start, I would have realized it was just a bad fuser and would not have wasted so much time.
