Haven’t seen this issue on that model. Solenoids never go bad. Every solenoid HP has ever used has this sponge to dampen the clicking noise. The sponge will disintegrate from heat and use and then become sticky. This causes the pickup roller release plate to stick and allow the roller to rotate continuously. All you have to do is scrape off the goo and replace with thin sticky backed felt. I’ve fixed thousands of them this way.
How to Identify and Fix Common printer Problems ?

If roll paper does not feed, cut the end straight across and uncurl it by rolling it backward, if necessary. Then reload the paper. If thick media does not feed, make sure you are loading it straight into the product, not at an angle. If paper jams when you print on both sides of the paper, try loading fewer sheets.
You need to check the settings for the paper tray for size and type paper and then compare those settings with driver settings. In other words if you have letter paper in tray 2 and the type is set to plain or any you have to make sure your driver is set to the same.
Select > Paper Setting > paper source > Print Adjustments > Paper Feed Adjust.
The paper has holes along both sides that fit over the sprockets located on the feeder wheel. When the wheel turns, it feeds the paper into the printer. The holes are torn off the paper after the printout is complete. And, yes, printers still use this type of feeder mechanism.
If the paper feed rollers are dirty or paper powder is attached to it, paper may not be fed properly. In this case, clean the paper feed rollers. Cleaning will wear out the paper feed rollers, so perform this only when necessary. Make sure that the power is turned on and remove any paper from the rear tray.
Using both hands, put one piece of paper in the manual feed slot until the front edge of the paper touches the paper feed roller. Once the machine has grasped the paper, let go. The side to be printed should be faced up. The machine will hold the paper in place until the print data is sent to the machine.
“Manual Feed” is an indication that your machine`s Tray Setting or the paper source in the printer driver has been set to Manual Feed, but there`s no paper loaded in the manual feed slot. 1. Load a sheet of paper in the manual feed slot. The document should print and clear the error message.
The manual feed slot is located on the front of your printer. It can be closed when not in use, making the product more compact. Use the manual feed slot to print transparencies, labels, envelopes or postcards in addition to making quick runs of paper types or sizes that are not currently loaded in the paper tray.
Click Start, point to Settings, and the click Printers. Right-click the appropriate printer, and then click Properties. Click the Paper tab, and then click the paper size you want to use in the Paper Size box. Click OK, and then close the Printers folder.
Continuous form feed and friction feed are the two types of paper feeder mechanisms. Dot matrix printers use continuous form feed, and laser printers use friction feed.
The automatic feeder has broken that bottleneck. The feeder is simply a machine that takes feed from a central hopper or bin out to the birds continuously all day. In place of having to fill a score of separate feeding troughs, the poultryman fills just one – the hopper – and does it just once a day.
The roller-type positive feed seed metering mechanism consists of two rollers with 45° inclined ends assembled on a hexagonal shaft such that the gap width between the rollers can be adjusted. The rollers rotate inside a circular tube fitted below the hopper.
A front loading printer is the most common form of laser printer, the media tray or cassette will usually be located at the bottom of the printer and will feed the media in from the front.
This is often caused by the fact the pick-up roller is worn out. The layer of rubber around this plastic part overtime gets too smooth, preventing paper from feeding properly into the printer. This fix is not really hard, will take no more than half an hour and costs around 10,- (Euro or Dollar).
