The interface cable may not be plugged in securely. Check both ends of the interface cable between the printer and the computer. You may not be using the correct interface cable. If you are using the USB interface, use a Revision 1.1 or 2.0 cable.

Check if the cable is properly connected from the computer to your Epson printer. If you are using wifi, check if the devices are connected to the same network. Check for ink levels or paper jams. Flashing ink out light means low ink.

Find the button marked Pause/Reset on the row of buttons on the control panel. Press and hold the button down for at least three seconds to clear the print job and reset your printer so you can start printing again. Try printing again. Repeat the process one time if you still experience printer errors.

Start by checking your hardware

If you`re using a wired printer, make sure that the printer cable is properly connected from the printer to your PC. For wireless printers, check the wireless connection. Make sure the printer`s wireless option is turned on and available.

Do a hard reset on your printer. To do this you just need to turn off your printer, unplug for a few minutes and then plug the printer again. If that still doesn`t work, try turning the printer and your computer off, and then start it back up again. Try uninstalling and then reinstalling your printer driver.

Epson Printer Errors

If your printer is displaying an error code or message on the control panel, search for `Error code` on your product`s FAQs tab.

Select Start , then select Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners . Scroll down to Related Settings and select Print server properties. Select the Drivers tab, and see if your printer is listed. If it is, you`re all set.

The common causes of “General Error” are: Something in the path of the printhead (like bits of paper or something that`s been dropped in) Incompatible cartridges (Printer can`t/won`t recognise them) Autohead Cleaning & insufficient ink in cartridge(s) [PX/TX700W <-> Artisan 837 models]

Ensure that the supported settings are applied in the printer driver and click Print in Black to continue printing using Black Print Mode or Cancel Print to replace the expended cartridge.

All cartridges must be installed with ink for printing and printer maintenance. For print quality, some ink remains in replaced cartridges. Designed for EPSON cartridges only: Other brands of ink supplies are not compatible and, if described as compatible, may not function properly or continuously.
