If non-genuine ink cartridges are installed, the ink cartridge status may not be displayed. If any of the ink cartridges installed in the printer is broken, incompatible with the printer model, or improperly installed, EPSON StatusMonitor will not display an accurate status of the ink cartridge.
To find out which ink cartridge is empty, check EPSON Status Monitor 3 (for Windows) or EPSON StatusMonitor (for Macintosh). You can also tell which cartridge is empty by checking the speed at which the error light flashes when the print head moves to the ink cartridge replacement position.
Click Print or Page Setup on the File menu of your application. The Print dialog box appears. Click the Utility icon button, then click the EPSON StatusMonitor button in the Utility dialog box. A graphic displaying the amount of ink remaining will appear.
This is usually caused by a non-flow of ink from the cartridge through the print head. In the case of an ink cartridge with an integrated printed head, take a warm damp cloth and gently wipe it across the print head until you see a flow of ink on the tissue or cloth.
There are numerous possible causes for a printer that`s randomly producing blanks. The most common ones are empty ink cartridges, improper cartridge installation, and congested nozzles. Driver and software issues can sometimes cause this problem as well.
There are a few things that could be the cause of this problem, including: Empty ink or toner cartridges that need replacing. Ink or toner cartridges that have become dislodged from their proper place. The wrong paper size loaded in the input tray.
On your computer, in the Windows Notification Area (bottom-right corner of your Windows desktop), right-click the printer icon. In the printer menu, select the Properties or Preferences option. In the printer settings window, the ink or toner levels are displayed for the currently-installed cartridge(s).
Select your printer then press “Manage” Select “Printing Preferences” Click on the “Maintenance” tab on the far right. From there you should be able to see ink levels for your selected printer.
A beam of light passes inside the cartridge through a prism, which is then detected by an optical sensor. Based on the level of light refraction, the printer is able to determine the ink level of the cartridge.
The printer will not operate if a black ink cartridge is expended or any cartridge is removed. If a color cartridge is expended, you may be able to continue printing temporarily with black ink. It`s best to always have extra cartridges on hand.
Disappearing ink is a water-based acid-base indicator (pH indicator) that changes from a colored to a colorless solution upon exposure to air. The most common pH indicators for the ink are thymolphthalein (blue) or phenolphthalein (red or pink).
Try removing your cartridges from your printer, and then shutting your printer down. Turn it on after a few hours and wait for your printer to recognize that there aren`t any cartridges installed in the printer. Install all of the cartridges back into the printer and try printing.
When “Toner Low” is displayed, prepare a new toner cartridge. If you do not have a new toner cartridge at hand and need printing before obtaining it, you can continue printing about 20 pages(*1) by opening and closing the front cover or the output tray. Print quality is not guaranteed.
As the name suggests, ink cartridges use liquid ink to create images and text on printed pages. Whereas toner cartridges use powder, which is heated to create printed documents. Much like the quality of petrol you put in your car, the ink and toner you use in your printer will help it run better for longer.
If it is selected, you cannot check the ink levels and refill ink. Open the printer driver, click the Maintenance tab, then click the EPSON Status Monitor 3 button. A graphic displays the approximate ink levels. The progress meter appears automatically when you start a print job.
