If you find that the printed data is unexpectedly faint or dots in the printed image are missing, you may be able to solve these problems by cleaning the print head, which ensures that the nozzles are delivering ink properly, by using the Head Cleaning utility.
Access the Print dialog box. Make the appropriate Media Type setting. Click the Layout icon button. Select the Fit to Page check box.
Choose Page Setup from the File menu of your application. The Page Setup dialog box appears. You can make the following settings in the Page Setup dialog box. Select the paper size you want to use.

Often, when there are lines or shading on your print job, the print cartridge could be the reason. When the print cartridge is not being effectively cleaned off, it creates streaks or shading on the document.
Dots are typically caused by foreign material inside the machine (for example, paper dust, glue from labels or envelopes, paper clips, staples) sticking to or damaging the surface of the drum. Toner builds up on or sticks to these areas on the drum and creates black dots on the printed pages. 2.
Make sure you selected the correct paper size and layout settings in your printing program and printer software. Make sure you selected the correct paper size on the control panel. Make sure your paper is positioned correctly for feeding into the printer. Slide the edge guides against the edges of the paper.
The print head nozzles may need cleaning. The ink cartridges may be old or low on ink, and you may need to replace them. Make sure the paper Type or Media Type setting matches the paper you loaded. Make sure your paper isn`t damaged, old, dirty, or loaded face-down.
Click Start, point to Settings, and the click Printers. Right-click the appropriate printer, and then click Properties. Click the Paper tab, and then click the paper size you want to use in the Paper Size box.
Make the appropriate Media Type setting. Click the Layout icon button. Select the Multi-Page check box in the Layout dialog box, then select Pages per Sheet.
Gently wipe to clean the spot on the developer roller (use soft cotton cloth or tissue paper to clear the foreign particle only the affected spot) and then put back the toner and print a supply test page. You will not the see the dots on page.

If your printer is still skipping lines when printing, go to your print quality settings and set it to high quality. If this still doesn`t fix it, try getting new cartridges and using those to see if it makes a difference.
Dots or marks on the printed pages may be caused by damage to the drum roller, or by toner or foreign material being stuck to the drum roller.

Epson R320 Photo Printer Won't Print Black Ink
ANSWER : Megan !!!! YEAH!!! Mine is a WrokForce 845 and mine are refillables for years. Refilled the BLACK and it quit. 20 nozzle checks later and still nothing so I took a syringe with a piece of fish air tubing. pulled all the 4 cartridges and blew air into all colors, cleaned the contacts and two cleanings and WALLAAA!!! Prints great.

ANSWER : Hi, You may have by now (Feb.2016 ) solved your problem, if not I have just used to code to reset my copy counter but as yet have not replaced the surplus ink pad tanks, what I am going to do is install an external surplus ink tank to bypass the pads as I am a bit nervous of taking my printer apart, Go to ebay and type in “RX600 surplus external ink tank” cost is well worth it, Happyhammer 20.02.16

ANSWER : Had the same problem with the VM cartridge, I cleaned and put it back several times not luck,then the MK started acting up as well, cleaned it and put it back and worked, the VM however was still acting up. I turned the printer off and took out the VM and put it back without cleaning, turned on the printer and the VM is working now….come on Epson what the hell is wrong with this system.

Multiple Problems With Epson Stylus Photo R280
ANSWER : I have had my R280 for about 3 years. It has worked fine with generic cartridges for several years now. Last week it indicated I needed to replace one cartridge. I used a generic cartridge from the same manufacturer I had used before. The printer would not accept the new cartridge and now told me that I needed to replace 4 cartridges because it recognized them as non Epson. Surely there is some way to fool the printer so it does not recognize generic cartridges – which have worked well in the past and are still over half full! Anyone got any ideas?
