EPSON recommends using plain photocopy or bond papers for your everyday printing. For digital photos that look and feel like traditional photos, choose one of the EPSON Premium Photo papers.
Depending on the type and intensity of the light your print is exposed to, a print on EPSON Photo Paper may last two or more years before noticeable fading occurs. Fade resistance could decrease in intense light conditions or increase if your print is protected by glass or special laminates.
market price of Epson Surecolor Printer in India is Rs 64,000/ Piece.
What copy paper is to text-based documents, photo paper is to photographs and images. Photo paper is glossy paper with an extra coating, which absorbs printer and copier ink better and dries faster.
You can use plain paper; however, for the best results, you`ll want to use one of Epson`s special inkjet papers. Note: Inkjet transparencies and vellum paper are not supported. You can load one sheet of binder paper with holes on one of the long edges.
Make sure the USB cable is connected securely at both ends and meets the requirements. Run a printer check. If the test page prints, make sure your software is installed correctly. Make sure the printer cover is closed.
regular 8.5×11-inch printer that puts the emphasis on photo quality rather than document output, the Epson XP-8600 is an excellent choice.
The most common types of paper for printing photos are glossy, luster, and baryta paper. An inkjet printer uses a printer cartridge that creates an image that is 300 x 300 dpi (dots per inch). Most printer cartridge brands do not create a resolution that is true “photo quality.”

HP printers are generally faster than Epson printers, especially when it comes to black-and-white prints. However, Epson printers have been known to offer better print quality and may be a better choice for those who prioritize quality over speed.
The Quality of The Print

The first thing that will impact the price is the quality of a print. Not all prints are created equal, and if a photographer prints for you they will probably have access to professional printers and will be offering you a higher quality of print than you would find on the high street.

No set standard makes a printer-specific to photos. You can, in theory, use almost any home printer to create black-and-white or color prints. Most printer software products include custom settings that will change the resolution of your print job to make them near perfect for photos.
It takes much more ink to give proper photo settings on photo paper as compared to plain paper. Using plain paper draft settings is likely to result in an unusable photo paper page, ruining a $1 sheet of photo paper to save a $0.20 worth of ink – not a good tradeoff.
All cartridges must be installed with ink for printing and printer maintenance. For print quality, some ink remains in replaced cartridges. Designed for EPSON cartridges only: Other brands of ink supplies are not compatible and, if described as compatible, may not function properly or continuously.
You can print your documents and photos on an Epson printer connected to a wireless (Wi-Fi) network from your smartphone or tablet (iOS/Android). You can even scan and save files on your device to send them as an email, or upload to an online storage service such as Evernote, Google Docs, Dropbox, and Box.
Do Epson inkjet printers come with ink? Yes, most Epson printers come with a set of starter cartridges. Starter cartridges are filled with less ink than a standard yield cartridge, so you can expect to print a limited number of pages before they need to be replaced.
Though they`re also ink based, but unlike normal inkjet printers that come with three colour and one black ink cartridge, professional photo printers could have 6 or even 12 colour ink cartridges. These printers use pigment-based ink and print on special quality paper.
The ideal file format choice for print is TIFF, followed closely by PNG. With your image opened in Adobe Photoshop, go to the “File” menu and select “Save As”. This will open the “Save As” window.
There are a number of reasons why this might happen. In a large number of cases we come across, the photo paper weight (which is measured in GSM) or overall thickness exceeds the printer`s ability meaning it is too think or too heavy for the rollers to successfully handle.
To access it on your laptop, navigate to File > Print with your mouse or type CTRL + P on your keyboard, then select “Printer Properties”. Here you will find a “Photo Printing” option, plus a number of other customizable features like borderless printing, media type and paper size.
Printers are configured in the Printers section of the Windows Control Panel. Printer Settings: Displays the printer settings window associated with the selected printer. The desired paper size, among other settings, can be selected in the printer settings window.
Operations may differ depending on the device. Connect your printer and your smart device using Wi-Fi Direct. On your Android device, install the Epson Print Enabler plug-in from Google Play. Go to Settings on your Android device, select Printing, and then enable Epson Print Enabler.

Multiple Problems With Epson Stylus Photo R280
ANSWER : I have had my R280 for about 3 years. It has worked fine with generic cartridges for several years now. Last week it indicated I needed to replace one cartridge. I used a generic cartridge from the same manufacturer I had used before. The printer would not accept the new cartridge and now told me that I needed to replace 4 cartridges because it recognized them as non Epson. Surely there is some way to fool the printer so it does not recognize generic cartridges – which have worked well in the past and are still over half full! Anyone got any ideas?

Epson Stylus Photo R200 – flashing red lights
ANSWER : The R800 will flash the ink and paper lights alternately when the ink pads are assumed to be full from extensive head cleaning. Sometimes, if not always, the head will lock into place on the right side above the ink head cleaning sponges that release ink to the lower ink pads.To correct the problem you need to clean the sponge area, I use cotton swabs. If the head is locked to need to release the carriage lock with a screwdriver. This will require removing the cover, but not necessarily the bottom of the unit. There is a 179 page service manual available for download for $16.50. There are free downloads of this manual, but usually are missing the 100 pages. You can remove the cover by:1. Remove the three screws on the rear housing (One to the left of the power plug, one on the opposite side and one in the lower middle bottom.2. Remove the three screws inside the upper housing (Just under the lid where the hinge is).3. Remove the screw under the left and right side in back below the vents.4. In the back pull the white ribbon closest to you out of the block, do not try to remove the block itself.5. Place a screwdriver into the slot both on the right and lift of the bottom corners on the back to release the hooks that hold the upper unit.6. Lastly, put a screwdriver into the notches on the bottom of the printer located in the front right and left, they are spring loaded.7. Remove cover.8. The head lock release screw is in the right side of the printer and is partially covered by the lower housing. I drilled a half inch hole into the side as to be able to insert a screwdriver. Turn the screw to the left and the head will rise out of the locked position. You only need to turn enough to release the head.9. Clean the sponges and any areas you see with excess ink.10. Place the cover on the unit enough to plug the white ribbon back in and turn the unit on.If the printer lights stop flashing then you are all set.
