Moving up the range, the SX125 and SX218 feature the same high print quality and straightforward operation as the S22, but with the addition of scan and copy functions, and the SX218 includes an LCD viewer. All three printers will be available from June 2010.
Above or below the plastic holder containing the cartridges, a sticker indicates what type of ink cartridges your printer uses. The sticker also contains red, yellow and blue circles representing Magenta, Yellow and Cyan colors. If you see the sticker, you have an inkjet printer.
Countering LaserJet Benefits

While Epson`s printers are inkjets, they have solved some of the technology`s problems.

Your product serial number appears on the side, back, or bottom of your product. It may also appear on a label beneath your product`s scanner unit or printer cover.
If you want to print a lot of text, a laser printer might be better. If you want clear, high-quality images, go with an inkjet. Overall, you should consider your space and money constraints, as well as other aspects like noise, whether you`ll want to use photo paper, and how much time it takes to print a job.
Laser printers produce higher overall print quality when taking into account both text and images. However, inkjet printers specialize in color image printing and produce high-quality color photos. When it comes to crisp, clean black and white text and color images, laser printers are unmatched.
Epson`s announcement said that its decision to focus completely on inkjet printers over laser ones is about the planet. And this is largely based on how laser printers work compared to inkjet. Laser printers rely on a laser, drum, toner, and heat to print an image.
The company will instead focus on its more environmentally-friendly inkjet printers, which consume less energy and produce less waste. Epson, the Japanese hardware corporation best known for its printers, is sunsetting its laser printer division due to sustainability concerns.
Epson ink cartridges come with a “Best If Used By” date. This date appears to be approximately two years after the date of manufacture. Epson recommends replacing your installed ink cartridges after six months, whether they`re empty or not, to ensure high-quality prints.
The average lifespan of a printer is around three to five years, though this metric will vary depending on the make and model of your printer and various external factors.
So how do you determine whether your printer is an inkjet printer? The easiest way to tell is by looking at the printheads – the nozzles that dispense the ink onto the paper. inkjet printers typically have two or more printheads, while other types of printers usually only have one.
Inkjet printers whose ink can be replaced with dye-sublimation ink are the most common type of printers that can be converted to sublimation printing. The Epson Ecotank ET-2800, ET-2760, ET-3760, and ET-15000 are the most popular inkjet printers that can be used for sublimation printing.
Built from the ground up to serve the unique needs of businesses of all sizes, Epson dye sublimation printers are engineered to offer a combination of reliable operation, exceptional quality and blazing fast print output to help your business grow.

Epson Stylus C64 in problems, Help!!!!
ANSWER : a lucky tip – if all else fails and you don’t have a PC instead of a Mac, try what I did on my C63. When the head finished moving and both red lights flashed with a “general error’ message, turn off the printer power supply and physically slide the head from its rest position to the far left of the printer. This seems to re-set the “foreign body” trigger. Turn the power back on, the head slowly moves back to the rest position and hey presto the lights have stopped flashing and the printer works! Sounds clumsy but you have nothing to lose trying it, the cost of repair exceeds the value of a 10 year old printer.
