a lucky tip – if all else fails and you don’t have a PC instead of a Mac, try what I did on my C63. When the head finished moving and both red lights flashed with a “general error’ message, turn off the printer power supply and physically slide the head from its rest position to the far left of the printer. This seems to re-set the “foreign body” trigger. Turn the power back on, the head slowly moves back to the rest position and hey presto the lights have stopped flashing and the printer works! Sounds clumsy but you have nothing to lose trying it, the cost of repair exceeds the value of a 10 year old printer.

If your Epson printer is printing out faint images, skipping lines, or is streaking your image with lines, chances are you have a clogged nozzle–a common problem many users have with Epson printers. It`s unavoidable that print heads clog over time as small amounts of ink residue dry up and collect in the nozzles.
Your Epson printer may have failed to recognize the new ink cartridge, or its ink level system has read it as empty. For numerous Epson printer models, there`s a way to bypass this built-in ink checking system through a quick cartridge reset. Raise the printer`s top cover and then hold the Ink button.

This error indicates that the air pressure for an ink cartridge is not correct, which is usually caused by a defective ink cartridge. If you recently replaced an ink cartridge, try replacing it with a new one. If the error still appears, contact Epson for help.
Check that the correct paper is properly loaded into the printer and is not jammed. Replacing damaged cables, plugging in loose or disconnected cables, and fixing paper jams as necessary may resolve the issue.
Your printer displays the “Missing or Failed Printhead” error to signal a malfunctioning printhead. The issue could be due to clogged ink nozzles, dirty ink cartridges, internal paper jams, and more. HP printers may also display this error if the printhead pulls air from ink cartridges.

Using EPSON StatusMonitor EPSON StatusMonitor monitors the printer. If it detects a printer error, it will inform you with an error message. When the ink runs low or out, a How to button appears. Most printers will stop working when they`re out of paper, ink or toner, or if the unit detects an issue with the ink or toner cartridge. When this occurs, you might receive an error message or notice blinking green or amber lights on your printer.
The terms “double printing,” “ghost printing,” or “ghosting” may all refer to a printing defect where an image or text block from a previous print is repeated onto the current page. Usually, ghosting happens due to a mechanical defect in the printer.
Remove the toner cartridge and gently wipe to remove any dust or toner underneath with a dry cloth. If you notice excess toner inside the print device, it may be possible to remove it using a vacuum that is specifically designed to capture fine dust particles like toner powder. These vacuums can be costly, however.
Check the ink levels
Sometimes, the printer may not print black ink because it is low or empty. You can check the ink levels on the printer`s display, or by using the software that came with your printer. If the ink level is low, replace the cartridge or refill it according to the manufacturer`s instructions.
Clean the print head, if necessary. Make sure the paper size, orientation, and layout settings in your printer software are correct. Make sure your document does not contain blank pages. If your printer software has a Preview option, you can check for blank pages before you print and remove them, if necessary.
If you know your ink cartridges are full, but your printer is still printing blank pages, you`ll want to make sure if you`ve properly installed your print driver. A print driver reads signals sent from the device you`re printing from so your device knows what model printer you have and what it`s functions are.
You can connect a mobile device directly to the printer without a wireless router or access point. Note: Make sure the Epson Smart Panel app is installed on your mobile device before connecting to the printer. Press the home button, if necessary.

Epson`s announcement said that its decision to focus completely on inkjet printers over laser ones is about the planet. And this is largely based on how laser printers work compared to inkjet. Laser printers rely on a laser, drum, toner, and heat to print an image.

Epson Printer Errors
If your printer is displaying an error code or message on the control panel, search for `Error code` on your product`s FAQs tab.
Turn off the printer. Wait at least 5 seconds, then turn it back on. If the error message still appears, write down the error number listed in the LCD panel (Cffff/Eggg), turn off the product, unplug the power cord, then contact a qualified service representative.
