Why is my Epson printer skipping lines when printing? Apart from a clogged printhead, one other potential culprit is the electronic connection of your cartridges with your printer. Try removing your cartridges from your printer, and then shutting your printer down.
If your printer won`t print, a print job has stopped unexpectedly, or you received a “carriage jam” error, your printer carriage is likely jammed. These jams occur when the carriage holding the ink cartridges stalls in the printer. Carriage jams sometimes occur after a paper jam.
The carriage of a printer is the assembly that holds the ink cartridges and slides back and forth to transfer ink onto printer paper.
The print head holder will not move unless the power is on. If the ON lamp is not lit, close the print head cover and turn the printer on. While the ON lamp is flashing, the machine is initializing. Wait until the ON lamp stops flashing and remains lit, and then open the print head cover again.

If this happens in the middle of the print, you may want to check and make sure that the filament is clean and that there is no dust on the spool. If enough dust is attached to the filament, it can cause a clog as it builds up inside the nozzle.

This can happen for a variety of reasons, from a sudden power outage, low ink, no paper, a paper jam to interference by third-party firewall software.
It is usually on the top right-hand side of your printer, near any digital display screen that the printer may have, and where the button used to turn the computer on and off is also located. Find the button marked Pause/Reset on the row of buttons on the control panel.
This error can occur if the firmware update procedure is interrupted (e.g. accidental or intentional powering off the Epson printer), cables being removed, or the installation being cancelled before it has completed.
HP OfficeJet Pro 9025: How to Fix Carriage Jam Error

The carriage jam error can occur when the carriage, which holds the ink cartridges, is stuck and cannot move. The printer may display an error message indicating that the carriage is blocked or that the print carriage cannot move.

Unplug the printer from the wall socket, use a lint flint-free and try and wipe clean the carriage path / paper path thoroughly inside the printer. There might be very small debris or dust particles which might be causing slight issues for the free carriage movement.
An inkjet cartridge is made of a dye-based ink dissolved in water or glycol. These cartridges spray liquid onto a paper as tiny precise drops from the nozzle. The inkjet cartridges come with inbuilt microchips that control the ink spray for accurate printing.
You`ll know fairly quickly if your printhead is causing you problems. If your PC or the LCD screen on your printer is telling you that your ink cartridges are full but no ink is passing through to the paper, then it`s most likely that you are dealing with a clogged printhead.
The printer will not operate if a black ink cartridge is expended or any cartridge is removed. If a color cartridge is expended, you may be able to continue printing temporarily with black ink. It`s best to always have extra cartridges on hand.
Remove Paper, Ink and Cables

Thrust Device or Cam: This is a marvel of mechanical engineering that controls whether the cartridge is extended or retracted.
Most caps consist of a clip, finial, cap band, and an inner cap. The clip allows the pen to be attached to a pocket, case, or piece of clothing. However, some caps do not come with a clip, and usually come advertised as “clipless”.
Click Page Layout > Margins > Custom Margins. In the Page Setup dialog box, under Center on page, select Horizontally and Vertically. This will center the sheet on the page when you print.
