How to Identify and Fix Common Problems ?

Epson`s announcement said that its decision to focus completely on inkjet printers over laser ones is about the planet. And this is largely based on how laser printers work compared to inkjet. Laser printers rely on a laser, drum, toner, and heat to print an image.
Whatever your business requirements, you`ll find that Epson`s range of laser printers has a solution to meetthem.
Laser printers are more efficient, printing pages more quickly than comparable inkjet printers perform. The printing process is noticeably quieter with a laser printer vs. inkjet. Even when not in use for long periods of time, toner does not run the risk of drying up and becoming unusable.
Laser printers can print much faster than inkjet printers can. Most are equipped with high-capacity paper trays, so they can print more pages at a given time. They`re also built to handle the printing of thousands of pages per month without succumbing to wear-and-tear.
Countering LaserJet Benefits

While Epson`s printers are inkjets, they have solved some of the technology`s problems.

A laser printer is a popular type of computer printer that uses a non-impact photocopier technology where there are no keys striking the paper. When a document is sent to the printer, a laser beam “draws” the document on a selenium-coated drum using electrical charges.
Laser printers can print faster than inkjet printers. It won`t matter much if you print a few pages at a time, but high-volume users will notice a huge difference. Laser printers produce perfect sharp black text. If your print jobs are mostly text with occasional graphics, laser is the way to go.
Color Laser Printer or Black & White Laser Printer

As print quality goes down over time, this will be a reason to replace the color printer. We find a black and white printer can sometimes last 10 years or more and most color laser printers are replaced every 3 to 5 years.

Laser printers can generally print around 30 to 40 pages per minute while Inkjet printers can print around 15 to 20 pages per minute. So, the printing speed depends on the type of printer used and the color format of the document (grayscale or color).
Laser printers are faster than inkjet printers too. Print speeds are denoted in pages-per-minute (PPM). Laser printers have print speeds of 14 PPM and higher. The basic laser printer can print about 30 to 40 pages per minute, whereas high-end models churn out more.
Simply connect your printer and device to the same network and tap the action icon to select the print option. Use Epson Print Enabler (free from Google Play™) with Android™ devices (v4. 4 or later). Then connect your printer and device to the same network and tap the menu icon to select the print option.
Another annoyance is that duplex printing works only manually, and not automatically, so two-sided printing may be annoying to you when using Epson EcoTank L5190. When you scan documents and pictures, you get access to different resolutions, varying from 75 DPI to 1200 DPI.
Epson EcoTank printers offer unbeatable cost per page when compared with laser printers due to the extremely low cost of replacement ink and extremely high yield. With an EcoTank printer, printing costs are less than half a cent per page.
Laser printers are fast. Whether you need to print five pages or fifty pages, laser printers get the job done in seconds. Toner cartridges print for thousands of pages before needing to be replaced. Even though they are expensive, they tend to have a very low cost per page because of that high page yield.
The laser printer was the first to be invented and was done so in 1969 by Gary Starkweather while working in the Xerox product development team. His idea was to use lasers to imprint an image onto a copier drum which would then be transferred onto paper. Hence, the name `Laser printer`.
Laser cutting is a low-cost high-production-volume technology, whereas 3D printing is a low-volume and high-cost technology. Laser cutting is suited to simple 2D parts, whereas 3D printing is best suited to complex 3D parts.
Technology (How It Works) Inkjet printers spray liquid ink through microscopic nozzles onto paper as pictured below. Laser printers, on the other hand, have a drum unit that fuses (or melts) toner powder onto paper with heat. So, one printer type uses ink, the other uses powder.
How a laser printer works. They work by using a heated wire to positively charge a drum, which is then passed over by a laser that reverses the charge in the areas that it hits. The now-negatively charged areas of the drum represents the image or text that is to be printed.
Although laser printer cartridges are more expensive, laser printers have a significantly lower cost per page than inkjet printers, particularly if you`re looking to print a lot in black and white.
Regarding this printer type`s energy cost, a laser printer uses more power than an inkjet printer. Some commercial laser printer models use up to 1000 watts, with 300 to 500 watts being the average.
The yield of a typical toner cartridge in a laser printer is between 2,500 and 3,000 pages. Some larger laser printers can even have toners that will yield up to 30,000 pages! In addition, modern printers are vulnerable to hackers.
Laser printers consume more electricity than inkjets, with the difference sometimes reaching up to 90% depending on the printer type and model.
The correct answer is Laser Printer. Laser printer: A laser printer provides the highest quality text and images for personal computers today.

Epson Stylus C64 in problems, Help!!!!
ANSWER : a lucky tip – if all else fails and you don’t have a PC instead of a Mac, try what I did on my C63. When the head finished moving and both red lights flashed with a “general error’ message, turn off the printer power supply and physically slide the head from its rest position to the far left of the printer. This seems to re-set the “foreign body” trigger. Turn the power back on, the head slowly moves back to the rest position and hey presto the lights have stopped flashing and the printer works! Sounds clumsy but you have nothing to lose trying it, the cost of repair exceeds the value of a 10 year old printer.
