How to Identify and Fix Common Problems ?

All cartridges must be installed with ink for printing and printer maintenance. For print quality, some ink remains in replaced cartridges. Designed for EPSON cartridges only: Other brands of ink supplies are not compatible and, if described as compatible, may not function properly or continuously.
Method 1 – Bypassng Ink Cartridge on Epson Printer

After opening the lid, hold the ink button down. When you find the ink holer is moving to its position, then open the cartridge`s lid which is having no ink. Close it again without removing the cartridge. Close the lid and start to print.

Standard cartridges are less expensive but will run out of ink faster. No matter which size you go with, the cartridge will install the exact same way in your printer. In fact, the physical cartridge size is the same regardless of the yield – the only difference is the amount of ink inside the cartridge.
You may be wondering what the difference is between compatible ink cartridges and genuine ink cartridges. The main difference is that genuine ink cartridges are made by that specific printer`s manufacturers, while compatible ink cartridges are made by a third party.
In the simple terms, original ink or toner cartridges are manufactured by the company who built your printer whereas a compatible cartridge is one that has been manufactured by a third party.
Unlike generic and counterfeit inks, genuine Epson inks are vacuum sealed from the factory to your hands to preserve ink quality and prevent evaporation.
Genuine Epson inks are specially formulated to be used with Epson printers. Non-genuine inks are generally manufactured using cheap and inferior materials. Further the poor quality of material used inside the counterfeit ink bottles can lead to leaks causing permanent staining and damage to the printer`s hardware.
Epson ink cartridges come with a “Best If Used By” date. This date appears to be approximately two years after the date of manufacture. Epson recommends replacing your installed ink cartridges after six months, whether they`re empty or not, to ensure high-quality prints.
You will get high-quality printouts from Epson printers as they provide a good resolution of up to 4800 × 1200 dpi. The ink cartridges used in these printers are cheap and affordable. You can also save money on printing costs by buying re-manufactured cartridges for your Epson printer.
Look for the GENUINE EPSON COLOUR SHIFTING LABEL on the packaging to ensure you are using an authentic Epson product. Find your ink, toner or paper by your cartridge/printer number.
Epson does not recommend refilling or using 3rd party ink cartridges. Using these products will not void the product`s original warranty, however, if these 3rd party products cause a failure, the repair of that failure will not be covered under warranty.
As long as you buy your compatible cartridges from a reputable source, they should be just as valid as genuine cartridges. The only difference between them is whether or not the company that made the printer made the cartridge. Genuine cartridges are where a manufacturer can make more of a profit.
Branded ink is expensive because original equipment printer manufacturers (OEMs) claim that the technology to make ink is expensive; so much is spent on R&D, and it costs a ton of money to ensure topnotch ink quality and reliability.
The problem with counterfeit printer cartridges is simply that they will deliver irreparable damage to your printer over time (and sometimes on the first go). Not only this, counterfeit ink cartridges often result in less than quality printing.
If you accidentally insert your inkjet`s cartridges in the wrong color slots, most printers sense the error through circuits that check installed consumables and alert you with an on-screen message. Until you correct this type of installation mixup, your printer simply won`t operate.
An Epson Printer can work best with an original Epson ink cartridge, but it can be coaxed to print using cloned or third party inkjet cartridges.

I tried Epson’s recommendation of cleaning the print path by pressing the copy button on the control panel (with nothing on the flatbed). Printed 5 pages and the last 2 were clean. Did a test print and the problem was back. Repeated a few times with the problem reocccuring. Switched out the cartridge. no better and now the printer doesn’t recognize its own brand cartridge. Yet, it accepts the 3rd party one.
