you can go to ebay and get a tool to reset any (almost) epson printer i use it on my r2000…..these printers are a major workhorse ive had mine for 12 year of constant printing thats not to say there is no maintenance ylu can set up an external wastebin for ink overflow and that way that tiny pad does not take the brunt of the print production. periodically (every couple of years) i pull all carts or your ciss depending upon your ink source and thoroughly clean the machine from the top down go easy on the foam strip right after the rollers or you will tear it. i use windex and it works great with a syringe and a piece of rubber hose the correct size to flush where the carts or ciss connect to the print heads to flush them out of cruddy old ink debris. 12 years ago i bought three of these i use one with carts (refillable) and another ciss. they are anything but junk. i believe the source of your problem is a bad cart source- non oem is hit and miss at best, keep trying different sources and you will find one find one that works. im not trying to pimp any vendors but if you continue to have problems i would be happy to tell you where i get my products good luck to you! oh yes my third r2000 is still wrapped in plastic new in the box!

The Epson SureColor P400 is a worthy replacement for the R2000. Both printers excel at bold, saturated photo reproduction. The Epson R2000 was released in May of 2011.
You will get high-quality printouts from Epson printers as they provide a good resolution of up to 4800 × 1200 dpi. The ink cartridges used in these printers are cheap and affordable. You can also save money on printing costs by buying re-manufactured cartridges for your Epson printer.
Epson printers function very well at 1440 dpi, and in general this should be the default setting.
Super-resolution: sharpens blurred images resulting from increasing resolution. Fine Line Adjustment: enhances the contrast and outlines of complicated images. Soft Focus Detail: enhances the contrast and outlines of smooth backgrounds.

Epson`s announcement said that its decision to focus completely on inkjet printers over laser ones is about the planet. And this is largely based on how laser printers work compared to inkjet. Laser printers rely on a laser, drum, toner, and heat to print an image.
The product prints a nozzle check pattern. Check the printed pattern to see if there are gaps in the lines. If there are no gaps, the print head is clean and you can continue printing. If there are gaps or the pattern is faint, clean the print head.
Print head cleaning uses both color and black ink. To avoid wasting ink, clean the print head only if print quality declines (for example, if the printout is blurry or the color is incorrect or missing).
Daiwa Kogyo Ltd. (the predecessor of Seiko Epson Corporation) is established on the shore of Lake Suwa in Nagano, Japan.
Turn the printer upside down and look for 4 little dials. They resemble clocks, imprinted in the plastic casing. The clocks show the year, month and day of manufacture.
HP printers are generally faster than Epson printers, especially when it comes to black-and-white prints. However, Epson printers have been known to offer better print quality and may be a better choice for those who prioritize quality over speed.
But Canon has the fastest copying and scanning speeds, while EPSON has the fastest printing speed. EPSON`s best printers can handle more paper, but Canon`s models have options for how to feed photo paper.
In many cases, the best resolution for printing is 300 PPI. At 300 pixels per inch (which roughly translates to 300 DPI, or dots per inch, on a printing press), an image will appear sharp and crisp. These are considered to be high resolution, or high-res, images.

ANSWER: Summit DTG Direct to Garment printers produce graphics with up to 5760×1440 dpi. We recommend 1440 x 720 dpi. Many designs look great at 1440×720 dpi, rarely will a design need to be printed at a higher resolution. Just for reference, traditional screen printing is approximately 72 dpi.

Laser printers don`t suffer from the same performance issue as inkjet printers when left idle for significant periods of time. Inkjet printers often get clogged up with dried out ink when not in regular use. Keeping them maintained requires careful cleaning.
Color Laser Printer or Black & White Laser Printer

As print quality goes down over time, this will be a reason to replace the color printer. We find a black and white printer can sometimes last 10 years or more and most color laser printers are replaced every 3 to 5 years.

A print head scratch occurs when an accumulation of dust or debris gets stuck in your machine. And if this happens, the damage cannot be fixed. In most cases, you would need to purchase a new printhead. That`s why it`s important to keep the dust out, away from your machine.
Printer manufacturers include expiration dates so consumers are encouraged to use their ink before it becomes susceptible to clogs or print quality issues. Dates are commonly found on the side of the printer cartridge or on the side of the cartridge box.
