How to Identify and Fix Common Problems ?

Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced technical support :

1. Paper support: Supports the paper loaded in the sheet feeder. 2. Sheet feeder: Holds blank paper and automatically feeds the paper during printing.
The key parts of the printer include, toner cartridges, image drum (also known as drum unit or photo-conductor), transfer roller or belt, fuser unit, laser, and mirrors.
The printer`s laser projects your print onto a drum. A drum then uses static electricity to attract the dry toner to the drum`s cylinder. The drum then rolls the toner onto the paper to create your print. The toner powder is melted and pressed onto the paper with heat from the fuser as it goes through a set of rollers.
The top part of the printer is what is referred to as the automatic document feeder (ADF). It would be used to feed multiple pages to the scanner/copier so that you do not have to place them on the glass one at a time.
Any machine used in printing ink on the substrate (printing medium) which can be cloth, paper or plastic, is referred to as the printing machinery. By applying pressure to the substrate, the printing machinery transfers the ink on the printing medium resting on an inked platform composed of movable type.
The all-in-one printers are commonly used for offices or homes usually have 3 main functions, print, scan, and copy. The scan function is used more at the offices than at home.
A printer is basically an output device which prints a hard copy of the electronic data that is stored in the computer or any other devices. The electronic data may include documents, text, images or even the combination of all three. Particular printers are available for printing particular data types.
The printhead is a component in a printer that houses ink cartridges. It`s typically located under the cover of your printer, and it can become clogged with ink over time.
There are a number of porous pads in the printer that collect, distribute, and contain ink that is not used on printed pages. Ink is collected by these pads during the initial setup of the product, during cleaning cycles, and when printing borderless photographs.

Paper feeds straight through without printing on an Epson R2400
ANSWER : I was able to get it to print the internal test page by holding down the sheet paper feed button while turning the machine on — then continuing to hold the sheet paper feed button. It took several attempts, feeding a page straight through, but eventually it caught the sheet and printed. So it may be a timing issue as others have mentioned. It could still mean that the feed rollers are worn out. The back side of the large D-shaped feed roller has visible abrasion on it. The abrasion is difficult to see as the roller does not stay with the flat side exposed.
