Each printer in the Epson cartridge range uses a different type of printer cartridge and cannot work with any other in the Epson printer range other than that which is assigned to it.
Epson Printer Doesn`t recognise a new cartridge

This is to ensure it has clicked in place properly. If this doesn`t work, remove and inspect the cartridge chips. Clean away any dirt or ink that may be preventing it from being recognised. Refit and check if this has solved the problem.

Check the box your printer came in. Most printer boxes clearly display which cartridges are compatible with the printer right on the box. Find your printer model on the manufacturer`s website. The appropriate cartridges should be listed on the printer page.
Each toner cartridge typically has a number printed on it somewhere. You can remove the cartridge from the printer to find this number. Alternatively, you can look for the cartridge number or type in your printer`s manual or online by doing a search for your printer`s model number.
As long as you buy your compatible cartridges from a reputable source, they should be just as valid as genuine cartridges. The only difference between them is whether or not the company that made the printer made the cartridge. Genuine cartridges are where a manufacturer can make more of a profit.
Please note – Not all cartridges are the same! Different companies and websites buy and make cartridges from different suppliers. Different printers use ink or toner cartridges in a different way. What worked for one printer may not work for another.
In short, no! Printers need specific cartridges to work, which is why we have clear listings across the website for what ink works in any printer. You cannot just use any model/brand cartridge in a printer, even if they look the same.
Incompatible cartridge errors may appear when there is a communication breakdown between the printer and the chip on the cartridge. If your printer is turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer. Keep the power plug unplugged for 60 seconds, reconnect the power cord to the wall, and turn on the printer.
Step 1: Unplug your Epson printer. Step 2: Use your computer to process a printing job before turning your printer on again. Step 3: Plug in your Epson printer. Step 4: This process will override the ink cartridge settings and print out the document.
Compatible ink (or compatible toner) is manufactured by third-party manufacturers and is designed to work in designated printers without infringing on patents of printer manufacturers. Compatible inks and toners may come in a variety of packaging including sealed plastic wraps or taped plastic wraps.
Despite many printer cartridges having a similar shape and size, cartridges are not interchangeable across printer manufacturers. Each printer cartridge is designed to work with a particular series of printers.
If you install the wrong ink cartridge in your printer, you will likely receive an error message on your printer display that prevents you from using the printer. Printers are smart and most will be able to tell right away if the wrong cartridge is installed.
No, you can only use 502 ink refill bottles on EcoTank printers that use 502 ink bottles. Ink refills for different EcoTank printer models are not always interchangeable.
The printer will not operate if a black ink cartridge is expended or any cartridge is removed. If a color cartridge is expended, you may be able to continue printing temporarily with black ink. It`s best to always have extra cartridges on hand.

Paper feeds straight through without printing on an Epson R2400
ANSWER : I was able to get it to print the internal test page by holding down the sheet paper feed button while turning the machine on — then continuing to hold the sheet paper feed button. It took several attempts, feeding a page straight through, but eventually it caught the sheet and printed. So it may be a timing issue as others have mentioned. It could still mean that the feed rollers are worn out. The back side of the large D-shaped feed roller has visible abrasion on it. The abrasion is difficult to see as the roller does not stay with the flat side exposed.
