If you look at the front of your Epson cartridge box you might notice the name “DURABrite” or “Claria” in the corner. These names indicate what ink formula is inside the cartridge. Knowing the ink formulations that work best for certain print jobs will help you choose which one to shop for.
The Cause of Clogs
Printheads clog because nozzles get blocked by either air or ink. Clogs usually happen when: You keep printing with depleted ink cartridges. Using empty ink cartridges can result in air bubbles that can clog your cartridge and/or printhead.
Turn the printer on at least once every two weeks to automatically clean the print head and prevent the nozzles from clogging. If you do not turn on the printer for a long time, the printer may malfunction.
Print head stepper motor – A stepper motor moves the print head assembly (print head and ink cartridges) back and forth across the paper. Some printers have another stepper motor to park the print head assembly when the printer is not in use.
This means the slicer knows how much of a buffer to allow when planning the printing path of a model, particularly if you`re printing multiple models one at a time. In other words, the printhead settings ensure that the printhead doesn`t collide with the previously printed models.
Refilling original EPSON cartridges requires special tools and techniques, whereas refilling these cartridges is extremely simple. Simply remove the plug, simply inject the ink, simply replace the plug. That`s all there is to it! The cartridges are provided empty and must be filled with separately purchased ink.
What is a printhead? The printhead is a printer component that helps transfer ink onto the page. It does this by firing tiny droplets of ink via numerous printer nozzles to create a desired print. When one of these nozzles gets clogged your prints appear faded or streaky.
If your PC or the LCD screen on your printer is telling you that your ink cartridges are full but no ink is passing through to the paper, then it`s most likely that you are dealing with a clogged printhead. Blurry documents and images that appear faded are also signs that it`s time to remove the excess ink.
The primary culprit in the problem of clogged printhead nozzles, whether in Epson printers or otherwise, is air. Air blockages are fairly common, particularly because nozzles are becoming smaller, with every little bit of technological advancement. The next big culprit is, of course, dried ink.
