How to Identify and Fix Common Problems ?

This can be caused by a faulty USB cable, bad interface card on the printer, improper interface type selected in the printer settings or having the wrong driver installed on the computer. The easiest issue to check is the drivers.
Acquire an Ethernet cable and connect it to the port on the back of the printer. Take the other end of the Ethernet cable and plug it into your router`s Ethernet port. This is all that is needed to get your printer physically connected to your network.
Simply plug the USB cable from your printer into an available USB port on your PC, and turn the printer on. On the taskbar, select the Search icon, type Printers in the search bar, and then select Printers & scanners from the search results to open the Printers & scanners system setting.
Make sure that both ends of the USB cable are correctly inserted into the computer and the printer. Try disconnecting and reconnecting the USB cable at both ends. Disconnect the printer and the computer and reconnect them. Try another USB port if available.
The LAN printer will plug directly into your router or switch using an ethernet cable and allow you to print from any device on the network. For most users, a LAN printer is the ideal device. It will allow you to print from each of your POS devices without the need to plug anything directly to the POS.
That will not work. USB and Ethernet are not the same and you cannot convert one to the other directly.
Select the Start button, then select Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners. Under Add printers & scanners, select Add a printer or scanner. Choose the printer you want, and then select Add Device. If you don`t see the printer you want, select The printer that I want isn`t listed.
For a printer connected to the computer via USB, the Port should be set to USB Virtual Printer Port (such as USB001, USB002). For a printer connected to the computer via Parallel, the Port should be set to LPT1 (or LPT2, LPT3 if you have more than one Parallel interface port on your computer).
Purchasing Cables

Any USB cable that has the standard connectors will work with any USB printer. This is important to know because printer manufacturers rarely include a USB cable with the printer itself.

What type of cable do I need to connect my Epson printer to the computer? To connect your product to a USB port on your computer, you will require a cable. We recommend using a cable no longer than 1.8 metres. You can purchase a USB cable from your local retailer or supplier.
You can connect a mobile device directly to the printer without a wireless router or access point. Note: Make sure the Epson Smart Panel app is installed on your mobile device before connecting to the printer. Press the home button, if necessary. Use the arrow buttons to select the icon and press the OK button.
The majority of printers are compatible with a USB 2.0 A/B cable. The “A” side of the cable plugs into the USB port on your computer and the “B” side plugs into the back of the printer. This is a standard cable that is widely available and it can also be used to connect some mice and cameras to your computer too!
