A1: When an Epson printer is in an error state, it indicates that there is a problem or issue preventing the printer from functioning properly. It could be due to various reasons such as paper jams, connectivity issues, software conflicts, or low ink levels.
Clean the print head, if necessary. Make sure the paper size, orientation, and layout settings in your printer software are correct. Make sure your document does not contain blank pages. If your printer software has a Preview option, you can check for blank pages before you print and remove them, if necessary.
An ink cartridge in your printer needs to be replaced. The cartridge may be expended, or the IC chip on the cartridge may not be communicating properly. Try reseating the cartridge and turning the printer off and on. If you still see the error message, try installing a different ink cartridge in the printer.
If the error light is flashing, you cannot clean the print head. Replace the appropriate ink cartridge first. Right-click the printer icon on the taskbar, then select Head Cleaning. Or access the printer software, then click the Utility tab and click the Head Cleaning button.
Your Epson printer may have failed to recognize the new ink cartridge, or its ink level system has read it as empty. For numerous Epson printer models, there`s a way to bypass this built-in ink checking system through a quick cartridge reset. Raise the printer`s top cover and then hold the Ink button.
Verify the ink cartridge(s) is inserted properly. Some cartridges snap in place, and if they are not inserted fully, the printer won`t print anything. If a lever is moved from its original position to allow for installation of ink cartridges, ensure it is returned to its original position.
Find the Cartridge Reset Button.
Some Epson cartridges such as Epson 78 ink has a reset button for refillable purposes. Turn the ink cartridge to where the microchip can be found. Using the end of a paper clip, press the reset button that can be located above the metal contacts, right in the center.
Select Print Settings from the pop-up menu. Select plain papers or Envelope as the Media Type setting. Select the Grayscale check box. Click Print to close the Print dialog box.
Just above the circuit board on most printer cartridges, you`ll find a small button. You`ve seen these tiny buttons before on cell phones, phone chargers, etc. This is your reset button, and the only way to get in there is either with a paper clip or the tip of a pen (which will leave a tiny ink smudge on the button).
A reset button disconnects the chip from printer temporarily. It makes the printer thinks you removed and reinserted the cartridge.
1. Paper Jams. Paper jams are a common problem for printers, resulting in time-consuming and frustrating delays. It can occur when loose sheets of paper get stuck in the rollers or feeding mechanism of the printer.
Quick fix. Error code e02 occurs due to overheating of the printhead or when the paper is not correctly placed into the input tray and therefore the paper feed rollers are unable to pick up the paper from the paper tray.
The only permanent solution to the 0x0000011B error is to install the latest Windows Update which fixes the issue. For now, you can try uninstalling the update or disabling the problematic security feature from the Registry. Other workarounds include installing the printer manually.
Missing colours, streaky prints, smudges and ink blotches are all signs that your printer ink or toner cartridge may be damaged. Some printers will actually warn you if a cartridge is damaged and will refuse to print. This includes HP ink cartridges, Samsung toner cartridges and Canon ink cartridges.
Reset Button Models
It is usually on the top right-hand side of your printer, near any digital display screen that the printer may have, and where the button used to turn the computer on and off is also located. Find the button marked Pause/Reset on the row of buttons on the control panel.
Fatal Error
Turn off the printer, then turn it on again. The ink out lights come on and the print head moves left. Replace the ink cartridge with a new one. If the fatal error occurs again after turning on the printer, contact your dealer.
The printer will not operate if a black ink cartridge is expended or any cartridge is removed. If a color cartridge is expended, you may be able to continue printing temporarily with black ink. It`s best to always have extra cartridges on hand.
What should I do? The ink cartridges may not have been installed using the correct procedure or they may not be seated correctly. Follow the instructions below to correctly install and reseat the ink cartridges. Turn on your product.
With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer. Unplug the power cord from the power source. Wait 60 seconds. Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer.
If the ink level is sufficient, but the printer still does not print black ink, you may need to run a cleaning cycle. A cleaning cycle is a process that cleans the printer heads and removes any clogged or dried ink.
